I read in the newspaper yesterday and today that Page, Jones and Jason Bonham is in the process of writing and recording new material. Plant is still on his tour with bluegrass singer Alison Krauss and is said to join when he's done with that. This info has not been confirmed so until they have, they are rumors. But how sweet wouldn't that be huh, a new Zeppelin album and a tour late 2009? |
Jjeroen 28.08.2008 12:00 |
It actually HAS been confirmed by Jason Bonham in a radio-interview that the three have indeed spent a week in the studio together. Bonham also officially left Foreigner (and should now be regarded as an 'official' bandmember of Led Zeppelin.) He has not said that Plant will join them. Both Page and Jones were tired of waiting for him and decided to do whatever they felt like. "If Robert want's to join, that's great. But we are not going to force him. Led Zeppelin has always been about doing things from the heart and if Robert's heart is somewhere else, there is no use in waiting for him." |
Major Tom 28.08.2008 12:47 |
Ok, that's great news. sorry if my "news" wasn't the correct ones. Damn those newspapers! Well, since they have been involved with some studiowork I think that Robert Plat WILL join. I read somewhere else(then again, not to be confirmed nor trusted) Plant earlier has stated that he will not take part of new Led Zeppelin works. In a later interwiev he said that: It's great to play with them again, I love those guys. And again asked if there is a possability of Led Zep recording and touring he said: I really enjoyed it(the o2 gig) and you never know what's behind the next corner. Cryptic? Yes. But I think that it WILL happen. |
Jjeroen 28.08.2008 13:38 |
LOL! That's actually one of the least criptic remarks Plant ever made! ;-))) He's known for it. I can also not imagine 'Led Zeppelin' releasing something without Plant. But then again that leaves two options: Plant finally lets go of his stubbornness and does participate in the new sessions. OR he will keep his word and will not get involved, perhaps leaving the new sessions unreleased forever... (cause, who the hell is going to sing on them then? An instrumental album will be considered to be not marketable and with another singer they will never be able to still call it 'Zeppelin' (Though other bands DO seem to get away with that... *cough*QPR*cough*) But I'm afraid he might not get involved. It becomes clear every time that Page and Jones are pretty fed up with him. Plant in return refuses to participate in new music that does not go into a significantly different direction. (and I'm sure Page and Jones want to continue the old Zeppelin-feel... Plant doesn't). That's also why the Page & Plant colabboration in the 90's all of the sudden stopped. They are no longer on the same wavelength when it comes to writing music... and on top of that not very friendly about eachother in public... *Sitting here praying that Plant will see the light* |

Be kinda nice if they actually do a tour...I dunno about spending $200 on a ticket, but it would be well worth it imo. |

Ugh, that Allison Kraus tour is pure bullshit. I decided to keep an open mind on it and watched one of the songs on Youtube; wouldn't you believe it, all of the comments were sugary crap on how 'unique' the performance was, so I thought I'd tell them how it really sounds. Approval-only comments. What a surprise. |

Approval-only comments. What a surprise. They even plan to record a second album! (I have to say though - although it is definately not my type of music, that album IS pretty good though. But mostly because you can actually hear how the two were having fun and there is a real chemistry going on...) |

I have to say that I was pleased with how the Plant Krauss album sounded. Of course there are some average song on there but overall it's a great album. It's still on my MP3 player(YES, it's legally downloaded). I think that the general public still thinks Plant to sound like Zep but if you approach the record without that attitude, maybe you like more. Then again you have to be fond of that genre of course. As someone mentioned, I'm not sure Plant and Krauss is STILL touring, I didn't look that up. But as the original article read, he is. As a huge Zeppelin fan I would definitly put 200 Euro(150£,am I wrong here?)on a ticket to see them. If Plant joins of course. I mean, just look at the clips from the O2 gig. THEY STILL GOT IT! |

Changes are important to evolve as a human being, yes. But this time he ought to just swallow his pride and record whatever the fans want to hear: THE OLD LED ZEP. |
Raf 29.08.2008 19:03 |
Whether Plant sounds good or not with that woman, I really hope he'll eventually rejoin Led Zeppelin. If he doesn't, I hope it won't stop the other guys from releasing a new album. It's about time we hear some good news from them! The O2 gig was very good... For a tease! ;) |

Yea I heard the same news but I?m not sure. But I heard that Jonzy, Page and Bonhem are already recording the new songs and remixing the old stuff and then when Plant is through with he's tour they'll add the vocals. I also heard that there's gonna be some real good duets, I think with that girl I forgot her name, the one that Page played The Whole Lot Of Love with at the Olympics. It?s also thought that Mick and Keith (Stones) Are going to do couple of sessions with them, Can you imagine Robbie and Mick doin hardcore blues together. It's brain busting. I don't know if its true or just rumors, but I feel great, the Stones and Led_Zep Together. It killing. I holp that they will also play with Keti Melua (I read somewhere that she is Robbies one of the favorite girl voices) I don know but I holp |
