After reading the latest Queen News on QZ, I just acquired the new 5 CD Queen Mini-Box Set.
After 4 years of virtually no decent Queen releases, I thought archive material would never be released.
Except for the release of the multi-track masters, this is the best Queen release in the last four years.
This (2008) is turning out to be the best Queen year since 1995 with the releases of the following:
The Multi-Track Masters
The Mini-Box Set
The Cosmos
... and who knows what will be released for X-Mas
Includes "Innuendo (explosive version - source: rare single release)"
Well, I must go out and buy two of those then. Rare? Doesn't everyone here have the CD Single, 7", 12" and the picture disc? I think they made enough for everyone...

Great for newbies, but that's it.
ah that horrible mp3 download thing...
Thanks for clearing up!
Even though this "mini box set" is lossy and has been readily available via download for a while, it is still more worthwhile than anything Queen has repackaged and put on sale during the last four years, especially considering that previously unreleased archive material will not be released anytime soon.
It looks pretty cool, even though it's not official.
It's a good feeling to have all those songs on CD's, instead of just files on the computer.
Always nice with a couple of new Queen-centimeters on the shelf : )
... about 5 years ago, I remember all the second hand stores had a lot of bootleg CD's, but not anymore. Why is that?
There is a lot of official material in there. A lot of fake and mislabeled stuff. And it's lossy. I cannot think of a worser piece of crap!
By the way, about the 'shelved' Hollywood Records remixes also from that site... Hmmm. Let's see: One was not shelved (the 'Dave Olgivie alternative mix'), but released on a promo CD sampler (called FREAKSHOW) - and the other two have nothing to do with Hollywood Records (and were released on DJ compilation records).
If you want to know lesser and lesser about QUEEN just keep downloading such... Ah, misinformation.

... and yet it is still better than anything released by QPL in the last 4 years.

Hmmmm,
I downloaded this at the weekend and was pleasantly pleased by the result - a decent amount of material there and in "relatively good" sound quality compared with versions I'd downloaded before from elsewhere.
Wonder if there would be any mileage in detailing to Greg the exact numbers of downloads this set has in order to prove a demand for vault releases..........?
No, none whatsoever.
