I'm new to the threads, so forgive me, if this has been discussed a thousand times before. I dont own all the Queen albums, but will soon....I've been a casual fan since 15, now 36 and really into them big time of late. I'm right into "Innuendo" at the moment, and love "Dont try so hard".
My questions is, what is everyones fave Queen album, and top 5 songs.?
So far, I love "The Game". "Sail away sweet sister" is beautiful.
For me, so far its -
"Bohemian Rhapsody"
"Dont try so hard"
"Sail away"
"Brighton rock"
"Who wants to live forever"
Hi ! and welcome to the threads !
yeah it's been discussed many times, but:
My album, from the very first time I listened to it: A Day At The Races
Innuendo, Queen II, SHA and NOTW would be in my Top5 albums, actually (but I love MIH, The Game, ANATO, The Miracle :P)
Regarding the songs .. man, this is a difficult one for me, and I guess for many others. It depends on the factors affecting your life in this or that period, your feelings, etc .. My Top 5 songs has changed many times over the years.
Songs like Don't Stop Me Now, Millionaire Waltz, March Of The Black Queen, Sail Away Sweet Sister or Princess Of The Universe will always have their privileged seat in my heart
cheers
Favorite album? Innuendo!

Oh God, here I go. Why do I do this to myself? Get your flamethrowers out...
My suggestion to you is to set that Innuendo record aside for a very long time. Right next to Made In Heaven. Keep the Innuendo CD Single handy, of course.
Fairy tales of yesterday...
Hoop Diddy Diddy...
Hey Hey Hey...
Thru the madness, thru the tears...
Meow...
Make it stop. It should have been sold with a block of cheddar.
I believe it really ended with Hot Space. Freddie presented another masterpiece and the band could not answer after that. They all bought keyboards and drum machines after hearing what Fred could do with one on HS. Unfortunately they lost their Rock Pants.
Now I've hung with them, bought every release when it was released, every single, etc. But you're getting a shell of the band when dealing with The Works, Magic, Miracle, and Innuendo. Made In Heaven didn't sell that many copies because of the songwriting. (See Mr. Bad Guy sales comparisons.) There really is something to that Record Company power. It all changed when they moved to Capitol. More hands on the controls? Possibly.
