Hollywood Records Website for Queen is horrendous. It is crazy but if you go on to the Hollywood records website - you'd have no idea that QPR was going to put out a new single / album....etc. At least with EMI, the link you to the QPR website and actually have information about you that it not 10 years old...
People actually visit that site??
I certainly don't. This was the first time in years I'd gone there.
Anyways, I don't think they bother updating cos they know everyone goes to QOL, Queenzone, Brian's site, etc etc.
HR is shite.
What makes me laugh is that at the HR homepage you can see that there isn't (apart from Breaking Benjamin) one other serious artist on their rota - it's all the teen stars, TV stars turned singers etc...
I'm not quite sure how Queen's reelationship works with them now bearing in mind their obvious leaning towards 'flash in the pan' non serious musicians.
It is a shite of a distrubutor. But then, I kind of feel sorry for Hollywood records. They (unwisely) put all their eggs in a basket for Queen and it backfired. That's probably why you don't hire music fans to run your company, but they did. It's just too bad they didn't have all four members take physicals before shoving all that cash at them.

But they must have been doing well enough back in 2001, when Queen renewed their contract with them then.

Actually, yes, but not to the level they had hoped. When you're blessed with bands such as The Lifer's Group and Sisters Of Mercy, catalog sales of Queen can help bring that balance sheet out of the red.
Made In Heaven was somewhat redeeming for them, though. That many copies sold was not expected. I'm sure, though, they aren't counting on that kind of response again, otherwise they might be amending that contract again.
The original deal in 1991 was signed under the allusion that Queen would return to form with Innuendo and possibly tour. No, Freddie was not at that meeting.
I would expect that this would be the last go around for Queen and Hollywood, unless their still throwing piles of cash around. I can't imagine their doing that right now. Release another live CD, perhaps another Greatest Hits in addition to that new album and you've fufilled that deal.
But if it weren't for Hollywood, we wouldn't have those leaked multi-tracks. Oops! Did I say that?
