And why is this fascinating?
"Wow Brian! I've had an outrageous idea!! No.. no... REALLY outrageous... You think a choir of 80 vocals singing "mama mia let me go" is fascinating? Wait till you hear this... Why not dedicate this album to our dead friend and collegue, who has worked with us for over 20 years. It's crazy isn't it!"
....
.....they dedicated Made In Heaven to Freddie. Brian dedicated Back To The Light and Another World to Freddie. Roger dedicated Happiness and Electric Fire to Freddie. The WWRY musical is, presumably, dedicated to Freddie. He must be chuffed!
Perhaps John is dedicating all his strip club vusuts to Freddie too.......
This was probably (at least in part) due to the fact that many fans would see Freddie as being shunned and would be upset and whine that it wasn't dedicated to him. 1991 was a long time ago. Let's move on people! It is a little too predictable. Can't wait for the album though
Look.
I'm a HUGE Queen fan; and I will be forever.
But this dedication is a total non-event.
I'm cool with Paul Rodgers, and couldn't think of anyone better to sing for/with Brian and Roger at this point. But many people are not happy with all of this. This is a political nod to try and appease the annoyed. Not that it's not genuine; it is.
But of course they're going to dedicate this album to Freddie. They've done nothing but bow to the memory of the brilliance of their friend, band mate and soul brother.
Let's hear the new music!
