The Chinese have adopted some of the most revered American sporting customs, such as a) cameramen scanning the crowd for hot women and b) playing Queen's "We Will Rock You" during time-outs.
I have heard Freddie Mercury's song, if not his voice, during water polo and basketball contests. (It's a strange version; I don't know who sings it.) It was weirdest at basketball, because Germany was playing Greece at the time and I didn't know who "we" was. Were the Chinese just talking trash for future games?
And has the Chinese Communist Party paid ANY attention to the lyrics?
Buddy you're a young man, hard man
Shoutin' in the street gonna take on the world some day
You got blood on your face
You big disgrace
Wavin' your banner all over the place link
Nothing like self-righteousness applied to affairs as far away from home as possible.
Sweep around your own front door. Boycott the Olympic Games in England to show your support for Northern Ireland.
And, by the way, did you know Dalai Lama is chosen based on whose REINCARNATION he's supposed to be. Talk about being un-democratic. Even Saddam Hussein's election was more democratic. If I were to boycott the Games in China, I'd do so because America hasn't bombed Tibetan insurgents yet...

Northern Ireland is playing Scotland in Glasgow on the 20th Aug. All support very welcome, but not required: Fatty's boys are gonna get a hell of a beating.
P-Staker Northen Ireland is 1/4 of the United Kingdom, and for your pea brain's benefit the U.K. is a fully recognised by the United Nations and valued member of the assembly (Irish Free State 1922) nuff said, I resent your ill informed views, my Grandmother family is from Northen Ireland, and my family is from England, we all don't need troublemakers like you poisoning our peaceful enviroment, A lot of people have died at the hands of terrorists in my country the U.K. because of minority views such as yours, so get a life and fix your own country's issues, we manage very well thank you very much!
So, when separatists are far away (South Ossetia, Kosovo, Tibet) they are victims of oppression, but when they're at home, they're "terrorists" and "troublemakers" who "poison a peaceful environment" and hold a "minority view."
Funny how the look of things changes with one's perspective.
And that's exactly the point I wanted to make. Sorry if I upset you in the process; I didn't want to make it personal.

Have to admit I don't know much about Tibet but the most obvious difference between the situations you mention is that the UK is a liberal democracy whereas China is a non-liberal one-party state. Bland generalities certainly don't make for convincing arguments. Once again though, I would suggest Queenzone is not the place to discuss the rights or wrongs of the Irish Troubles.

If there's any promising footballers in your family feel free to contact Nigel Worthington or the Irish FA asap! We're always looking for the new George Best (minus the beer, but supermodels very welcome).

Then again, Dalai Lama is a nice fella whilst Saddam, was not.
