Dear all my fans on QZ You will be sad (yes you will, confess it) to hear that my usual 2-3 day twice-yearly (bi-annual, indeed) look at this site, and random responses here and there and in no particular order, is now over for a while. I'm bored again. I'm going back to the wondrous work I've been doing on some rather intriguing projects - including the I WANT IT ALL! memorabilia book... due out Christmas 2009 by the way (for that chap that asked). That was conceited and annoying sounding, wasn't it!? You gotta love how easily this stuff comes to me! It's just natural. I will miss you. You will miss me. I know it. YV... I can't. Sorry. Next time maybe. Todd, Darren, Benn... Yes, ok then. But YOU pay! That's the thing with QueenZone; it offers such intelligent, profound, significant food for thought so very much of the time. Here is a typical example I found on a current thread, posted by our American QZ-er Jake. He observes.... JAKE: On Breakthru' you can hear Freddie say "Plump vagina smells yummy" if you play parts of the solo in reverse!!! Errrr... Yes indeed. Right then! I'll miss profound comment such as this which are strangely common on this site. I'll be back to piss you all off again in a few months no doubt. Love to everyone, and especially your pet dogs, if you have any. I will try VERY HARD to resist commenting on any other threads for a few months. Last time i was here, by the by, one of you little monkeys said, words to the effect... 'GB might piss people off, and cause misery and suffering to some of us when he suddenly appears, but you have to admit he does always stir things up a bit when he's here, and get us all active again. Like him or loathe him, he does stir up a shit load of hornet's nests when he's around.' Indeed. I liked that. I want to be known as the QZ Stirrer up of shit loads of hornet's nests. See you soon. Annoy and offend some you sooner than you know. And... maybe see a VERY FEW of you in Montreux next month. GB |

I've had relatives visiting, and could only briefly look at some of these threads. I am just now getting to enjoy them thoroughly, Greg. It's great to have you visit us. We are lucky. Have fun with your projects and don't forget us!!! Say Hi to your Mom. Haha. Love, Donna |

Get cracking....I know for a fact that there is a great live version of "Free Bird" done by Fred, Brian, John, and Roger with Ronnie Van Zant and Gary Rossington, recorded in the winter of 1974. Why this has never been released, I have no idea. |

Oh fuck off Greg and don't bother coming back until you've some proper news to tell us instead of posting rubbish. |

And is it me, GB, or are some Queen fans the nastiest and meanest people on blogs? I am amazed at some of the stuff that is said up here regarding people's use of improper English when clearly, English is not their first language and other digs. It's amazing! |

Greg, we know you can't leave. You come on this site, and you get a pop-up and then you reach into your pants. A website like that, how can you leave it? You won't go. You're addicted! |

Greg, a serious warning: keep this behavior up, and you WILL be banned. |

Hey Greg, I think this problem has some different angles. I can understand both the QZ'ers point concerning some of your replies (although I must admit I do not visit this site as often as I used to, but I feel I need to say some things) but also your point of view about the QZ'ers flaming you. As I said in the other topic I met you at some Dutch conventions and I must say you appeared to me as a nice guy -with a very cool job :)- and also a honest person. Therefore I can understand why you feel attacked by some of the people here. Though I sometimes do think you exaggerate a little bit. Besides all this flaming and all the other shit that goes on around here, I must note another thing. It concerns your book. Do you know how many hours of work -and not to forget, money- I put in making the pictures from my tour memorabilia and collecting them? And then I take all the effort to make the pictures the way you requested -taking almost 5 hours!- and then I sent you some examples and you don't have the decency to even reply on my email, even though you said you would be very happy if I helped you! I'm sorry to take this personal thing on to this board but I have to make this comment as this contributes to my feelings towards you. I am sure you are busy and such, but looking -and replying- to my email will take a lot less time than posting on this forum, let alone me putting a lot of time and effort in helping you. If you still want me to contribute to your -truely fantastic and original- book, you know where to contact me. Though I must say, since I feel a little disappointed I do require something in return now -no, not money-. I hope you can understand and respect my opinion about you and also about the QZ people's reactions. And I do think that if you look at it from both ways, sometimes the other people are right too, may it be in a polite way or not. Anyway, I'm not going to type for a lot longer, as I think I expressed myself clear enough towards everybody so I'll wrap it up. I'm looking forward to meet you at the Dutch convention again next year, and maybe the UK convention, and I hope you don't have any feelings towards me after this post, as I'm not too well informed and this comes from my own experiences. I'm waiting for your email aswell, as I still feel I can contribute some nice items. All the best, Jerome |

Greg, thank you for the response mate. Xmas 2009 for the book and the following year for the box sets. Great i can't wait! You are going back to work for Queen now full time and so we will miss your humourous fucking comments. It seems that nobody on here can ask any questions or post any comments on here without being abused. Fair enough it's only text on a screen and i and others here can laugh it off, but it's people like ourselves who will end up going to the concerts, buying the cd's etc. and we are not entitled then to pass any comments or discuss what's in the vaults etc. on this website. So much for democracy. |

I guarantee that if things carry on as they have, Greg Brooks will never be known as anything BUT a shit-stirrer. Way to invalidate your own hard work in the eyes of the public consciousness, you giant douche! |

Who gives a toss. I've been into queen for 20 years... do you think I give a toss about a shit book full of memorabilia... maybe when I was 15 and collecting anything that said Queen's name on it... but now there is no chance I would waste my money on such garbage. Go do some real work and give people what they actually want. What a giant waste of resources... ha ha... a book full of pics... why not just throw them on the queenonline website for free? Imagine wasting all that time making such a pointless product! This to me is why I am not holding out for any future box sets... why get sidelined with such a meaningless project, if getting box sets ready was a genuine reality? People... don't waste your time with this joker. |

.......and in the same vein, there is no Rolling Stones archive box set available. Given that they keep dragging a tired old routine around the world, is it any conincodence that the same is true of Queen? |

Given that they keep dragging a tired old routine around the world, is it any conincodence that the same is true of Queen?Have you seen them? They might be old, but one thing they are not is tired... the shows are always first class, just to watch Keith Richards do his stuff is frankly amazing, there will be very few that can hold the attention of the fans for 40+ years in the future. These box sets seem a waste of time to me, only the very dedicated fan is going to by them and the Stones for example have arouind 400 songs, so imagine the out-takes and re-mixes, it would be mind numbingly boring to wade through 600+ tracks. I personally don't understand why people want 14 mixes of the same song? I guess there are those that do, but personnally I would rather have new material or old concerts released, a Queen box set would be interesting to a degree, but not sure I would bother to buy it, I would have 98% of the tracks and apart from the stuff like Hangman, Silver Salmon and all the usual stuff that gets talked about here I don't think 8 mixes of We Will Rock You and 9 versions of Under Pressure would interest me greatly. |
