inu-liger 04.08.2008 05:37 |
I concede. Yours has better quality. Wegotit's on the other hand is epic phail, sorry to say. |
brians wig 04.08.2008 05:44 |
It's not a competition mate! If I'd been at work this morning everyone would have been downloading yours and very grateful for it too! :) |
inu-liger 04.08.2008 05:54 |
I suppose |
Ale_Pisa 04.08.2008 07:54 |
Thank you very much! Cheers |
Major Tom 04.08.2008 09:14 |
Yeah, this is acually a great song. I don't know why everyone rants about it. I mean, do you expect Brian and Roger to have ressurected Freddie, or under gunthreat had John play the bass? This is what they have for us now and imo, it's GOOD. And about the "stolen riff" discussion: I belive there is a better chance of that Winnie the Pooh bullshit to be true. Thank you for this mate! |
Benn 04.08.2008 16:53 |
It's backing track is great - awesomly heavy riff and strong beat (wonder who handles the bass duties!?) and Paul delivers a really strog, distinctive vocal. BUT, the chorus is devastatingly boring. Sounds to me like they're trying to remember that Queen's trademark was harmonies and that they just HAVE to have big vocal arrangements in there. Maybe this is just a one-off and won't be repeated time and again on the album, but somehow, I just have a feeling that it's a pattern to be repeated. This will not chart. |
tonimau 04.08.2008 19:04 |
Benn said it all, I totally agree. |
Hitman 04.08.2008 20:33 |
thank youuuuuu great quality ;) i think we'll hear this song on radios |
GreatKingSam 05.08.2008 03:37 |
Typical Queen... you either love it or hate it. Other than a short solo, and that annoying audience-noise every now and then, it's a top tune. For me, it's catchy as hell, I can't stop humming the chorus, Paul's vocals are top, nice harmonies all round, and how fucking good are Rog's drums! |
Major Tom 05.08.2008 07:26 |
Hey, where's Keith Moon amongst the drummer all-stars? |
tonyyy 05.08.2008 08:39 |
Brian in this is song is fabulous as always! Tony My web page: link |
pittrek 05.08.2008 09:01 |
Well I don't want to repeat myself, but I really start to love this song :) |

pittrek wrote: Well I don't want to repeat myself, but I really start to love this song :)Yeah man, me too! Think, brian's guitar newer sounded so powerfull on studio album, al least not since 1977 NOTW album. I also love the lyrics, cause nowadays tv wrilly sucks, especially reality shows! I would rather watch Dynasty! Still very dissapointed with the artwork! |
Mára 06.08.2008 04:37 |
In my opinion the C-lebrity version in Al Murray Happy Hour was really better than the studio version,Brian's solo,Paul's singin' etc. You know, something is missing, i hope this isn't final version :-) |
gnomo 06.08.2008 04:54 |
... well, this is the single version: the album version *might* be slightly different, I don't know ... |
brians wig 06.08.2008 09:50 |
I hope it's got a decent guitar solo for a start! You can tell Fred's not here :( |
Raf 08.08.2008 18:25 |
Thanks!! :) This is great! I just hope Brian will extend the solo on stage. It's not bad at all - just too short. ;) |
Radio-Fixer (ex 'queen7391') 08.08.2008 19:46 |
First of all, thanks to brians wig :) Oh, don't worry.. it's only a 'single edit', it will be different on the album.. I say this quite surely, because a 'queen track' (even if I don't feel this C-lebrity as it) must have a better intro.. and a good-old-long guitar solo!! I've to say.. of course IMO.. great drum work by Rog.. good guitar by Brian (maybe the riff too repetitive).. in general a 'nice powerful commercial song (why not, a hit)', but it doesn't have an unique 'queen sound'. Listeners, or Queen fans recognize some trademarks in drums and guitars.. but differently, in two ways: Rog's and Bri's.. I can't say anything about the voice, although it could be perfect and perfectly suited to the song, in someone's opinion.. IMO it's not a 'Queen thing'.. Well, now.. Q+PR fans, please don't kill me for those words I said.. :) |
Ale Solan 08.08.2008 20:27 |
Q+PR fans don't exist... just Queen fans that *like* Paul's colaboration with Brian & Roger. Q+PR is the best Queen tribute you can find. And it features Brian & Roger themselves! |
brians wig 09.08.2008 15:23 |
Okay folks, here is that version but with Paul's vocals REMOVED! Go on, you can thank me later... :) link |
Tero 09.08.2008 15:29 |
Can I have a version with Roger's composition replaced with somebody else's? ;) |
brians wig 09.08.2008 16:24 |
Yes mate, after you've added Freddies Lead vocals to it! :) |
Rien 10.08.2008 14:31 |
BW thanks for providing the radio version of this track. This song really had to grow on me, being a bit disappointed when I first heard it. But this version sounds really great to me and I've started playing it on my stereo, instead of through the headphones playing the mp3 on my pc. I do feel something's missing, as stated earlier. In the old days it was just amazing to hear a Queen song for the first time. This one's different though it does have the trademarks of Roger, Brian and Paul. (imo) Your second version (without the leadvocal)... funny but I prefer the original :-) Great to hear the guitars so up front in that one though. |
Hitman 10.08.2008 14:43 |
Personally i don't understand the "queen sound" debate: roger has often changed drumkits, jon bass guitars, they have played "funk black" music, hard rock, ballads...and which songs have a long guitar solo? certainly not all of them. and the intros? i mean my friends every song is on his own. i already enjoy this single version of C-lebrity! =) |
brians wig 10.08.2008 15:02 |
Hitman wrote: Personally i don't understand the "queen sound" debate:=)Quite simply, it doesn't matter how instruments are changed through the years, when you hear a Queen song, you know it's Queen before you Freddie starts singing. When you hear the Stones, you know it's the Stones. When you hear Quo (dear God), you know it's Quo! |
brians wig 04.09.2008 18:09 |
NOTE: I WILL DELETING THIS ON SATURDAY 6TH SEPTEMBER, SO IF YOU WANT THE TRACK WITH THE DJ ANNOUNCING IT AS THE FIRST EVER AIR-PLAY OF THE NEW SINGLE, GET IT NOW! |
boca 05.09.2008 08:32 |
first of all, thx for this. huh, i must be lucky one, i got this day before deleting :D. My opinion: chorus harmonies are little bit annoying, song overall is not that bad, but i compare it to songs that were not so succesful on Queen albums. still, you can find Queen elements in it. at the end, i'm glad they did something. it's better to have something then nothing... |
JoxerTheDeityPirate 06.09.2008 04:50 |
cheers for this but does this mean you will be sitting in front of the radio next week when Ken The Bruce plays the album on his show too? ;-] |

Seriously, having the DJ announcing that C-lebrity is the first play of the song is something that, in 20 years time, you'll feel nostalgic about. I've got Roger being interviewed about "Innuendo" after the first airplay that got in 1991, and it's nice to hear that. Those were the days.... :) |
