I can't sleep. I am still up and about and it's getting on for 3 a.m. You know... I'm going to admit to something... If I spend the time I spent writing things such as this, and other stuff tonight, on answering real proper questions, I would conceivably be a much more liked person. It is true. More of you would be more likely to say nicer things, and not side with each other at every opportunity to have another Go at me - trying to make me cry. There would be fewer beastly personal observations about my mum, dad, sister, pets, etc, etc, and, I guess, rather less death threats and threats to set fire to me, and have me tortured, and my wife (though I don't have one of those), and so forth. Yes, it's true, to a small or large extent I control my own destiny in terms of QZ profile - such as it is. But... being honest... how bored would YOU get if you were expected to answer the same questions every other week? Be honest? How boring would you find that? How EAGER and ENTHUSED could you remain? And if you WERE nice, sometimes, and did answer some of the more intelligent and original and well thought out considered questions, but still you saw those frequent anal entrance QZ-er being insulting and personal... how long do you think you would bother being 'helpful'? ALSO... let's continue the honestly...I really DO enjoy pissing the odd person off. Why? Because some of you guys go out of your way to be nasty to me, and so I like to feel, in my mind, that I redress the balance a bit. Allow me my little amusement, please! It's like 'escapism' for me sometimes. I come here, occassionally it's true, NOT to learn profound new things about Queen, or to be bowled over by new-found data that will leave me speechless, but to stir things up a bit - just exactly the same as you guys like to... SOME OF YOU... NOT all of you. I'm no different. I can't face answering AGAIN the same old tired shagged out and knackered questions on the Anthology, Freddie box, what's in the archive, what do we do all day - and do Queen know I swear and use bad words apparently in their name. I have done this to death a hundred thousand times over 10 years. it's more interesting for me to get up Zebonka's giant nose, and the rest of the Antagonisers on this site. You can surely understand that. I thought if I stated some obvious things, it might explain things that seem to escape many people's notice here... obvious though I thought these things are, or should be to anyone with a brain up top. I still can't sleep. I will now invite your intelligent and considered responces. And equally your inane and not very profound words. |

QA, why bother explaining your actions and reason why you do what you do, your human, and bottom line, I would have to say, is say what you like! Why even try to explain why you have to give the Q-zoners your comments and such, because you know your going to get attacked! I post Queen news every chance i get from the USA, and seen a couple of times I got shot down........ but believe me I could care less, I'm a really down to earth person and take one day at a time, LIFES TO SHORT NOT TO! And to see sometimes the HATRED ON THIS SITE, amazes me, I write songs, and and sometimes I take the comments from the haters or negative people and put them to lyrics as I do the good comments. (hopefully i don't get sued) LOL ...... So in closing, and goes for everyone, LIFES WAY TO SHORT, AND ENJOY EACH MOMENT AS IT IS YOUR LAST BREATH! You can't take away the moment when your gone, so be positive and ENJOY LIFE, instead of worrying about the minor things in life! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK, QA! Micky |

Sensible and courteous... rare for QZ, as you surely must know. Quite right! Don't let the fools bring you down. This is just a hour or two 'let off steam' ocassionally for me.Nothing serious. I share your sentiment. Well put. |

Cry me a river, it's the internet. also your comments are kind of patronising so you should expect people to attack you if they feel that you are talking down to them when you have no grounds to. |

the more you post here...the more of a cretinous picture of yourself you paint i can't believe that Brian May would allow an (albeit) part-time employee of the band/ record company to visit a fan-site and post patronizing and insulting crap on such a regular basis....in the absence of May/Taylor and Deacon you and your ilk are the only (supposed) voice/representation of Queen here....you do the band no credit so therefore, when you add your "charisma" to your obvious lack of knowledge of what QP actually have archived, then the only natural conclusion is that you are a fantasist imposter of Walter Mitty/Billy Liar-esque proportions... |

I don't support everything you said, but I still want to know for sure this really is Greg Brooks. |

Greg, first - I have never met you. Or spoken via email or phone. Next - regarding your comment that Micky Parise being a nice guy is rare on QZ: Likely a large portion of the folks on here are actually swell people. My guess is that a large portion of the people who read the forums _dont bother to post_ and throw themselves into a pile of it. Truly, a few people here seem to enjoy tossing and turning in, and making snow angels out of, the crap slung around here. And when theyre done scrubbing it under their armpits, roll around some more for good measure. While I can see the appeal (who doesnt want shit stuck in their nose hairs?), its not for everyone. Dude, it does get old clicking on a topic and watching some newbie or earnest foreigner ask a question and have some QZer instantly respond with WRONG FUCKING FORUM YOU DUMB COCKSUCKING TWAT, or whatever tasty insult springs to mind. Also old are the (to me) redundant replies... I agree. John Deacon looks delicious in overalls. You beat me to it. What he said. I was going to say that. You beat me to it. Agree. Blah Blah Blah.... redundant replies... redundant replies... redundant... And of course my favorite: the inane reply to a serious question, which sets off a chain of in-jokes and *gasp* MORE INANE REPLIES. EX: Im trying to track down a picture of the Deaky Amp in the studio, from the years '76-78, has anyone seen one? WRONG FUCKING THREAD YOU COCKSUCKING TWAT. Yes, but has anyone seen a photo of Johns teddybear in the studio from 74? No, but Ive seen the Commodores live. I eat turkey. Purple. I like buses. Awww.... You always liked buses. I know, but it had to be said. ;) I would love to have a "weed out the dumb comments" function... however people would be flagging as dumb the stuff Id rather read, too. More troubling is the fact that anyone remotely interested in Queen has to have the initial tenacity to watch this schoolyard behavior when they first click on to QZ. A lot of people are probably turned off by the knee-jerk reactions, wildly unsubstantiated guesses touted as fact, "fans" frequently flying over, then taking a big fat seagull dump on Brian, idiots masquerading as freedom advocates (you know, those guys noisily asserting to all of us, He can say what he wants, its a free country. You dont rule me, you fucking asshole. Hes well within his bounds, and while you may not agree with what he said, or how he phrased it, hes entitled to his opinion. You asshole. You dont have to agree with it or even read it. Feel free to go look at other sites. Asshole.), and of course, last but not least, watching guys like me, who tend to lurk for years and say little, and you wonder, why did he bother to respond now, after all this time? Why cave in an acknowledge their antics and thereby encourage em? ... I dont know, felt like it I guess. :) Probably though the person with the comment about it being "the internet" was the most pithy; internet message boards "are what they are." Id never sit through the kind of kindergarten shit on here in real life... but I find a whole lot of other things here much more enjoyable, enough to keep coming back every day and chuckle and shake my head and go, ah yeah, here we go again... and smile. |

And to follow up: Micky Parise is probably a pretty cool guy. It is hard to form legit impressions on here, but everything seems to point to him being an 'alright guy' from the posts Ive seen. I also seem to remember he won some contest for biggest fan back in 2005, where you had to be nominated by someone, and there were pictures of his basement cloaked in Queen stuff. Maybe Im remembering wrong. But I think the bastard won a Queen Tour tshirt! I wanted it ;) Course, I got one on tour, but... And FURTHERMORE... for some reason, some Queen fans ARE jerks to those in the Queen camp. I was embarassed for the other couple hundred American fans who went to see the opening of WWRY Vegas over ONE particular guy, who, in addition to being pushy, rude, loud, and generally obnoxious, was INVASIVE of Brians time with some of his friends. I think I posted about that in 2004, however, so no need to beat a dead horse. Much. *looks side to side and give it a quick kick in the ribs* I have a POSITIVE story from before that... in 2001 at the first official fancon in Cleveland, there was a rep there from Hollywood records. This was not long after Robbie Williams sang WATC, his saucy comments were tossed around, and Brits were shitting themselves as the Euro Justin Timberlake (both ex boy-bandmembers gone bigtime solo) was being talked about as Freddies REPLACEMENT. So our Hollywood rep was friendly, talked about some stuff, and took questions... and I recall sticking up for it all (Robbie, Queen, and if the fucking Brits wont take em, we will). Anyone interested in the guys name can find it in the sleeve notes for the Killer Queen cover album. He wrote them (my sister remembered his name when she saw it.) Whether or not you liked it, he put some time into Queen. I thanked him in 2001, probably should have when that album came out (in 2005?). And lastly, I thanked Bri when I met him for everything he did for Queen (this was right before the tour was announced)... and was polite to Spike, Roger, Roy Thomas Baker, Jackie, Jen (Brians webmaster), the women who run the Mercury Phoenix Trust, the stars of WWRY, and hopefully anyone else I ran into. Were not all ungrateful gits. Whatever that is. :) Even us Americans. |

Hi QA. You are doing a fantastic job. I know how it feels when people don't seem to appriciate the work you do. Personally I would expect on a Queen forum, that most people were friendly and helpful, but some people in here (as anywhere else on the planet) are stupid, childish and thoughtless twats. Forget them, and keep up the good work. As the song says: "No time for losers". Don't let them stop you, ignore their silly comments, and don't let them waist your time. Those kind of people don't deserve an answer from you! It is a good thing to be kind, but I once realised that not everyone has got common sense, so I stopped waisting good mood on those people. You know, when you give someone the little finger, sometimes they will take the whole hand away from you. They will steal your energy, and dry you out. Don't let that happen to yourself! It is a great idea to try and seek information from fans. A great opportunity to gather history that will be interesting for Queen fans in the future, (books, movies, documentaries, etc). Cheers! Best wishes M. |

For some reason you are not able to fully comprehend the complex things I said and fundamental points I made. It's not your fault, so don't worry about it. One day, soon, you WILL understand what I'm driving at, so don't feel bad. You just take care and look after yourself, young man. You did very well there though, so well done you. :-) |

Greg, you need a PR-agent who will answer all those crappy questions, so you can spend all your time dusting off all the recordings of false notes that those chaotic and lazy Queenies threw in the basement without labeling it first. |

Honestly, it's fun to read most of your posts BTW have you ever replied to the question "when will we queenmoaners get our anthology" ? Or don't you know ? I'm sorry, I HAD to ask |
