From QOL: Look out for the first plays of the new Queen + Paul Rodgers single on UK Radio as of next week. Radio 2 - Ken Bruce Show next Monday 4th August between 9.30am-noon. The track will then hopefully get more airs before going into playlist the following week. Virgin Radio - The track will be played from noon onwards that day (Monday 4th August). More details on the single and album coming very shortly... --- Also from QOL: Queen are now pushing themselves into the world of Social Networking Sites, see all the recently launched pages, plus look out for some You Tube news very soon! MySpace - link Imeem - link iLike - link Facebook - link Bebo - link Buzznet - link The social networking sites seem to confirm that the album is called 'The Cosmos Rocks' and that it will be released September 15th in Europe and October 14th in North America (which sucks). |

I wonder whether this new single will be 'C-Lebrity' or something we haven't heard yet. Either way, I'm looking forward to listening to it on Monday! |

I thought the article said the first new single was going to be "Say Its Not True" Maybe I misread it. If it is SINT I think thats a yawn inducing choice for a first single off a much anticipated new album. |
Borhap80 31.07.2008 10:12 |
Please say it's not true!!!! - That song has had its shot as a charity release... Come on - lack of fantazy???? - Do something fresh!! |

have u heard the word "import" sometime? ;) That is what I gonna do. Wait 1 month? no fucking way. Cheers P. |
Michael Allred 31.07.2008 14:26 |
Like a lot of US fans, I'll just order an import from the UK. Hollywood Records, once again out of touch, they KNOW fans won't wait an entire month for a new album so they'll lose money/sales and will put a slight dent into their (hopeful) chart debut. |
Erin 31.07.2008 14:29 |
We have ordered the import, but that doesn't mean we will get to hear it the day it comes out. :-( |

Will Brian's hypocricy ever end? Not that I'm attacking the idea of doing this, in fact it's smart, just that Brian should either stick to his lofty ideals or shut the hell up with the double talk. |

Michael Allred wrote: and for all the shit Brian gave sites like myspace.com, now he and his partners in crime have joined up with them to help promotion. Will Brian's hypocricy ever end?Do you honestly think that what Brian says will be (if at all) always taken into consideration by EMI, Parlophone or whoever the fuck they deal with over there? Quite obviously, Brian isn't in charge of the band's promotion...that's in most cases the record companies that bands deal with. And the record companies always try to tap into "what's hip at the moment" to push their products (sometimes needlessly), and unfortunately for some of us, Facebook (which I'm a bigger fan of than) MyShite...er, MySpace, and those other sites are huge atm, as is YouTube (THAT, I can live with). Major record labels don't give a shit what their artists think or believe in, unless it's something that could really damage their labels (but that's what NDA clauses as part of contracts are for....Non-Disclosure Agreements) I myself hate MySpace, but it really is an essential tool for getting bands heard out there, and for fans to be able to be more direct with. I don't even touch our (my band's) MySpace account to do any updates. For that, I just take care of our main website link I prefer Facebook, because MySpace is so impersonal. And don't forget, Roger Taylor also hates Rupert Murdoch, who owns Fox and My$pace. |

BM.com wrote: Editor's Note: The above pages are without Brian's involvement. The fact remains, and it is well known, that Brian doesn't like such sites.I find it a bit convenient for artists like Brian (and Roger) to hide behind such excuses, as if he has absolutely nothing to say in the matter. Sure, "it's the record company that makes the PR decisions", but it's the artist with the rights to his own material who makes up the terms of their recording contract... I feel this is a situation similar to playing in the Sun City: It's much easier to plead ignorance and watch the cash flow in than it would be to actually find out what you're doing, and take personal responsibility for it. |

I liked the 45 seconds but I'm looking forward to the full 4 minutes or whatever...I guess I'll have to be streaming UK radio to hear it Monday....hope Brian put in a guitar solo....we didn't get that on the live take. |

If it's anything that certain people have been telling me from within the Queen circle, it's a very good indication of how different their new material will really be. Am looking forward to it, definitely, though I will be importing the UK CD first, and I'll still buy the Canadian release in October. Personally, I think they optimized the album artwork for vinyl moreso that CD :-) It seems like it anyways, and I hope I'm right... |

Wasnt not overwhelmed by the Al Murray-performance, but this was really great. Its amazing how the small things added and the tighter production really gives the song a lot of power and makes it, dare I say, modern. Dont think it will be a hit but with the right promotion it could have at least some kind of potential. |
