What'd you think? I pretty much loved it. I have some time to spare so I'll probably just list out some things.
Best Tribute Act: Pearl Jam. These guys totally rocked! I really mean it. I would even go as far as to say that their performances of "The Real Me" and "Love Reign O'er Me" rivaled the Who's original recordings. Absolutely phenomenal.
Worst Tribute Act: Flaming Lips. Sorry Flaming Lips fans, but the band totally sucked. The guitarist rarely played the riffs right, vocals were pretty weak, and the arrangements were weird, with all of the keyboards and such. And what was up with that freaking gong?
The Who?: The Who were the best of the show. Of what I've seen of their more recent concerts, their performance at Rock Honors was the best recent live performance of theirs. I mean, this performance blew their Live 8 performance out of the water.
Oh and one more thing: I HATE THAT STUPID BUNCH OF ASSHOLES THAT MADE UP MOST OF THE AUDIENCE. They were so dull, that you'd think they were being lectured on bicycle safety. Most of them DIDN'T EVEN CLAP DURING THE WHO PERFORMANCE. It's as if they didn't realize where they were. But at least the bands made up for the lack of a decent audience.
But, as I said before, what'd you think? If you haven't seen the broadcast yet, I suggest you watch one of the many inevitable encores on VH1.

What I saw of it was pretty great. Also, I very much agree with your statement about Pearl Jam. Fucking BRILLIANT. That said, I missed seeing the Foo Fighters...

I just vomited in my mouth a little.
Aww come on man. They were quite good.
Haha, Pearl Jam where great, I'll second your thoughts about the Flaming Lips : They suck :-)
I hope they play europe this year, I saw them last year in concert...first time ever...had tears in my eyes when they played Amazing Journey / Sparks!!!
I thought VH1 Rock Honors was made to honor those who have been ignored or failed the initial induction into 'The Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame'.
I personally think that Rush deserves the honor, because even though I'm not a fan I think they deserve some recognition.

Rush definately deserves it. I can't understand how the RnR Hall has over looked them. I want to know what will happen if & when they decide to honor Zeppelin. Think they'll coax Robert to gig w/ them one more time?
