QPR started the show with an acceptable version of One Vision. I had hopes to see something else new (I mean a new Queen cover, not new stuff), but the show proceeded with TYMD, TSMGO, WWRY, WATC and Allright Now. Paul seemed quite confident to me nice taster, but not enough to find out any hints from the upcoming tour |

That is interesting, and I must say Im quite pleased - this hasnt been played by the guys since the Magic Tour has it? Im certain Paul is capable of this one, so I'll actually be more interested to hear how Bri played it after 22 years - the solo etc. Hopefully someone will upload a top quality version of the Queen set as I had to go out this evening! |

as the songs were shortened and cut I was saying to myself "yeah, more time for more songs! now they'll surprise us with another new song as they did with One Vision!" but didn't happen :( Anyway, the "old" stuff was played smoothly; I liked Paul's voice and Roger's attitude (and clothes!); Brian also good by the way, he played (fine) Is This The World We Created with Andrea Corr on vocals |

Andrea Corr is a lovely lady, and a nice singer, but Ive heard her do this better before - I thought she was struggling a bit today - maybe she didnt warm up properly! |

I can see it already. |

AMAZING PERFORMANCE I LOVED IT ... but.. am i the first one to notice Rodgers messed up lyrics on One Vision? |
PieterMC 28.06.2008 00:23 |
I think One Vision needs some work.... and I am not talking about Paul flubbing the lyrics. |

Don't worry - One Vision will be tight....remember the first show at Brixton or the one in South Africa...those weren't tight either but they were when the got the tour going. The Show overall was great though....QPR Rocks!! |
Michael Allred 28.06.2008 01:44 |
Well "One Vision" was pretty sloppy but since it was the first time they performed in live, I'll cut them some slack. The rest of the set list was as tight as you'd expect, a well oiled machine you could say. I'd like to see "One Vision" performed on the tour, maybe with some more rehearsals behind it, it'll come off better. |
ANAGRAMER 28.06.2008 03:11 |
One Vision does indeed need a bit or work - PR got to the bridge as the others started on verse2. It is forgivable, and should be up to speed when the tour starts but this show was a worldwide shop-window and it really IS up to these guys to get it right |
Deacon Fan 28.06.2008 13:25 |
Well everyone's said it already but I'll go a step further and say One Vision was a disaster. And if they are considering starting the shows with it, as if it were 1986 again, I think that is just really sad. I've never been a Paul basher or a defender of Freddie's territory before but something doesn't feel right about them doing that song... Maybe it's from one too many times hearing that build-up and then Freddie prancing across the stage and giving it his all.. I hope they drop it. |

I think I had had enough listening to Paul's version of TSMGO but here we have another, why ruining this song over and over and over and over again???WWRY-WATC-all right now, same selist, same, same same same......too boring!!!! |

I would consider Love of my Life as THE Freddie's song, or "territory", as you say. Yet, I love it when Brian sings it. For that matter, I love it when almost anybody sings any of Freddie's treasures. This comes from a die hard fan since 1980, so I find it very interesting that you may have different feelings, which I respect, of course. Cheers, Ogre- |

Paul needs to learn the words although WOW his voice was amazing. One Vision worked for me I think the sloppy sound was down to a number of factors the type of gig mean't the first song was always going to be a bit hit and miss in the mix but they had got it right for the rest of the set. QPR Rock big time so glad we have something new to look forward too!! |
kingogre 28.06.2008 20:50 |
It looked like Brian threw something away during TYMD. Maybe he had a problem with a pick or something. Paul missed a line and there where some mistakes but I dont think to many people in the audience noticed and since the entire performance went down a storm Im not sure it really matters that much. |
kingogre 29.06.2008 18:24 |
After viewing it again I saw it was the bottleneck he threw away.;P Anyway he could have gotten sweaty fingers or something, these things happen sometimes no matter what you do. |

kingogre wrote: After viewing it again I saw it was the bottleneck he threw away.;Pyeah I think so I've watched the show a couple of times again and, well ... the "mess" on One Vision is not only Paul's fault; in fact I think he had little to do on it, except for mistaking the words at the beginning of the second verse. Brian hit a wrong chord on the initial riff and then the wrong thing came with the finale of the "I had a dream" part; I guess it had to do again with Brian and Spike and some lack of sinchronicity between them. Rog was ok to me. For the rest of the songs ... the perfomance was quite perfect and Brian played the solos very well |
kingogre 30.06.2008 18:09 |
You have to remember that this type of concert is very hard to play for a number of reasons. No sound-check etc. They made some mistakes sure, but they also handled them very professional and the rest of the performance was stunning. On the positive side, besides the mistakes, I think Brian did some of the best guitar work Ive heard him do for a long time, especially on TSMGO. |

Vali wrote:I think that is because of the snare bit Roger did before that verse, and I can understand why because he does normally do that before the actual "I had a dream" part, but he did it way too early, so Paul got confused because of that I'm very sure.kingogre wrote: After viewing it again I saw it was the bottleneck he threw away.;Pyeah I think so I've watched the show a couple of times again and, well ... the "mess" on One Vision is not only Paul's fault; in fact I think he had little to do on it, except for mistaking the words at the beginning of the second verse. They might also have tried several ideas for shortening the songs to fit a 20-minute set, yet didn't rehearse a 'final' version enough, so that's probably why everyone, EVEN Danny(!), made a few mistakes here and there. But they handled it professionally, and I loved it when Paul did a turnaround at the early "dream" mistake part to make it a bit humourous :) At least they don't exhibit any frustration with live mistakes......cos they know it can be overdubbed later on :P |

I liked the performance, it was rough at times but it rocked...Paul's voice suits One Vision nicely. Brian used other chords than on Wembley 1986 and that gave a small twist to the song. The middle part was fucked up by Spike and Brian because it was not clear who would sing. I had the feeling Spike improvised it at the moment. I hope though they will try more new songs in the tour. It might well be that One Vision was a one off, since the lyrics fit the occasion so well. Let's see what happens... Roger looked fat by the way, like he almost couldn't breathe... |

It was really a surprise for me that they did One Vision! When the intro started and the stage got dark..I got thrilled! Indeed a great performance of Brian during TSMGO. |
