I have it. It's in my torrent client. An Austrian flag!!! Austrian flag! I had never, ever seen one in my torrent client, and people from Austria, I tell you, your flag is waaaaaaay cute. Waaaay (showing the width of the waaay with the arms) cute. But that's not even the most exciting. It's friday, weekend is coming, the...windows are filled with frost...!?, no, that's Dylan's song, and it's not friday, but wintertime, I guess. lol But, yes, it's Friday, Friday is always a joy, and do you know what I got? An Austrian flag in my torrent client, yes, but also: an Austrian flag with vertical stripes, which means it's from another country, the domain of which is ".pe" I had also never seen this flag in my torrent client and I don't know what country is this. I know it's not Poland because I have already seen the Polish flag in my torrent client, it's very cute, I almost cried the first time I saw it. Now, I have this problem: a .pe flag which is reminiscent of the Austrian flag apart from the fact that the stripes are upright. :op And...what else...uh...hm...I had a political cold (I was sneezing Attorney Generals, kind of weird), and...feel free NOT to answer this thread, it's kind of a thread for me to outleash my reign of joy. Kisses and wishes and you may add anything that rhymes there (fishes?). And fishes are the most discrimated animals in the Planet. Did you notice that? I notice here. People love Japanese food here, and I agree, it's good food. And people love fish in general. So they all eat...pork or bovine or chicken meat and fish. But what about those who don't eat pbc (lol) meat? Many go for...fish. And those who don't eat pbc and are not that fond of vegetables? They go for them fishes. So, I pity the fishes! Fishes of the world, unite! Let's end up this tiranny. What prompted me to write this is something serious: I saw in the news here, there's a tv in the meal saloon, that there's a way of chosing what fish you should buy, what are the better fishes. Do you know, do you know what the journalist said? No. But I'll tell you. He said, and I'm quoting him: "Chose the fish which has the better appearance" (in Portuguese, though, it was with the "better face", like, looking healthy and happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). SO: it's open season on fishes. OPEN SEASON. And not only must they die to feed human being, but they have to go on happy and healthy even AFTER THEY HAVE ALREADY BEEN KILLED. THESE ARE THE FISHES. These are real discriminated against. And I always wanted to know how fishes have sex, but that's another subject, it was a doubt that came out in the Biology class and the teacher laughed out loud and tought I was kidding, but I was not. The internet doesn't have good info on this, nor the Biology textbooks. I have to go search for a specific book on zoology (is it an English word?) or fishes. I'll find it, ok, the library is great, but I wished youtube had some graphic explaining of the whole thing, because it must be cute to see them fishes making love, that's it. And, bye. And those who don't eat meat but |

I've always wondered how fishies do it... Cheers....There's a campaign against fishes! Do you what I was told by a friend who's graduating in Biology? That, basically, well, the system is all complicated, and it depends on the specimen of the fish, and so on, but basically, and he threw me that right into my face, he basically said that female fishes are sluts! Now, wait a second. He said: "Ow, the female, when there's one (!? I didn't get it), bears "children" from various different male fishes". What should I conclude? I doubt that! I doubt! Fishes are not sluts. The male fishes, well, they go for it (lol), but not that...I mean, huge defamation campaign. Poor fishes. And he, yes, avoided the straightforward question I posed to him with his "complicated system": how do fishes reproduce? Do they have sex or make love or flirt? If so, how it's done? This is the question no one wants to answer, my friend! THE CORPORATIONS are behind this because they make huge money out of fishes. The Fish Industry. Now, social critique aside, think about it: Cole Porter said that, well, every thing does it: bees, finns (!), folks in Amsterdan, educared flees and even the ELETRIC EELS, "though it shocks them, I know". Hahahha. COLE PORTER went through the whole record: does he ever mention fishes in "Let's Do it?" NOOOOOOOO! He doesn't. He doesn't because he didn't know whether fishes did it or not. Hahaha. It's an effort of the Fish Industry to devoid fishes of any emotions or feelings. The journalist comes in. He wants to do a fish-in instead of a teach-in - he says how you should buy the best fishes. What are the best fishes? In Portuguese, those with a "good face", like, healthy and happy. They are supposed to look happy and healthy even after they get killed and are about to be eaten! It's so outrageous. lol And it's not a Brazilian thing. For sure, strange things come up in Brazil - me, for example. lol But I've been told by other people from other countries that it's correct: the better fishes for people to eat are those which LOOK GOOD. I mean...it's a huge demand on fishes. I am well aware that NEMO was an effort to convey the message that fishes have feelings and emotions. lol But it was not enough: people watch NEMO, find Dorothy cute, and then...go dinner and eat a whole lot of Dorothies!!! Hahah. It's like that, I'm...because it's a serious issue. This "complicated system" is just a ideological fog. I'm definitely going to the library next week, we have a wonderful one here, and I'm going to discover what's the truth behind the scenes. |

JoxerTheDeityPirate wrote: i shouldnt of read this thread after a night of acid taking and trying to fillet a fresh mackerel while i read this :-pTONIGHT, joxer, TONIGHT, I'm gonna have myyyyyyseeeelf, a real good time. Hahaha. It's going to be great, I tell you. Let me tell you something important: I hate drugs. I keep as far from them as possible BUUUUUUUUUT, I have to add something and admit that acid trippers usually like me. Hahahahaha. It's serious, acid trippers are fond of me, it's something to be researched, because, well, it's crazy, I'm so "careta" (that means in portuguese: well...careta, you know? lol like...when you don't do things like...drinking alchohol, taking drugs, having sex...hahaaha). So, I'm a CLEAN ACID-TRIPPER. As for the FISH thing, JOXER, notice one thing: Has anyone answered to the killer question? Noooooooooooooo! There's a huge silence over fishes' sexuality!!!! NEMO didn't address it properly, though it helped us understand that fishes have feeling, but, as I said, it didn't work because, well, people love Dorothy, find it cute, but then they do eat a lot of dorothies... So...when is the world going to address this subject? I'm not against addressing the more important issues, no, and there are much more important issues, but this is one! This fish you have just eaten. How did you chose your fish? Hum? You did what the journalist here said? You selected the fish which "looked better"? It's outrageous. Fishes are the only animals which have to die for the sake of human beings and go on looking happy and healthy. But maybe you bought the fillet already and didn't have to look at the fish "aspect" and appearance. But these are the intentions of the FISH INDUSTRY which want you to believe that fishes never had any life, that they were always there, wrapped up for people to buy them, sometimes even WITHOUT A FACE. Let's fight against, Joxer! It's going to be our cause!!!! |

^ ROFL you missed one little detail when it came to my mackerel fillet,i caught it all by myself with my fishing rod at the end of the pier where i live lol now,i shall give a brief explanation of how fishes are made as i am probably the most qualified [ha!] to do so as i live in a 'small Cornish drinking village [porthleven] with a fishing problem'. fishes are made the most obvious way, except that the female fish leaves her eggs [up to 10,000] in the seaweed or coral formations for safety. i hope i dont have to start giving a 'birds and the bees' speech ;-] |

"birds and bees speech" was great. Now I think you're going to have to do just that. Hahaha. Well, you're a voice of the Industry. lol No, serious, so...fishes don't...like...flirt? Date? There's no male fish rubbing the female fish and so on? I mean, no caressing at all betweeen fishes, because I guessed they could kiss at least and so something with their mouth, and the boys, the boy fishes, they'd make for great lovers and husbands because they're always with the EYES WIDE OPEN, and never close it, so I think it's unlikely that the female fishes are sluts, as it has been claimed. So, basically: the female fish drops the eggs, period? But when does the male fish come in (not necessarily in...lol) the history? He leaves his "thing" and it hits the eggs and that's it, no affection between fishes? I'm so sad and disappointed. I was duty-bound to defend the fish cause, but it seems they have already been alienated from each other by the Industry. Hahaha. Well...10.000 eggs is a LOT. I mean...that's why people say the female fishes are sluts...because 10.000...but, well, thanks for the class!!!!!! I'm really curious to know how fishes reproduce. Now it's a bit clearer, but I still have some problems regarding the male role. lol S |

the breeding season for most species of fish is between January and March when the fish are at their leanest [plankton eaters like mackerel and sardines are anyway as they dont eat during the winter months].they usually go to a 'mating' area that has been used since God was a boy, salmon, for instance will travel 100's maybe 1000's of miles to reproduce in the area that they were originallly born in. and i must point a few things regarding the fishing industry [as i used to be a part of it in a small way].in Cornwall we use 'sustainable' fishing methods so we only catch fish that are not endangered and use bio-degradable nets that will not harm the enviroment and habitat of the fish. so the fishing industry is not all bad, well, not the Cornish fishing industry anyway. the Spanish fishing industry on the other hand is a totally different story.... |

That's fascinating, really. Thank you very much for the explanation. Really, I had no idea about this, no idea at all. It's absolutely lyrical the way fishes reproduce. They go home to reproduce...man, it's beautiful!!! And there's a "mating area", so they do...mate!!!! PEOPLE FROM THE WHOLE WORLD: THERE'S A MATING AREA FOR FISHES. I'm doing a lot of progresses in my cause. With your help, I have showed that there's evidence that fishes have feelings and emotions and that there's poetry in the lives of fishes. And I can quote you because you're not biased, you're from the Industry! Hahaha. ------- *** Really, thanks for the explaining and it's great to know that you guys do fishing this way, it's really nice. Congratulations...and...well, good meal, you deserve it, after all! I don't mean to cause mess in the forum but I couldn't creat a new topic for this. Sorry! Here's the message I tried to post. Heeeelp, this is the subject. Hahaha. Hi, people! Hope you're all doing fine. I need help... :-( I have Ukranian parents. Both my sister and my brother live in Ukraine. My sister is coming to visit us and I try to communicate with my brother, but it's a mess, because I can't see the characters right - it comes as a lot of question marks - and I don't know whether there's any program I can download to view as well as write according to the Cyrillic alphabet. Is there a good font for it? PM me or answer me here if you can help me. I want to give a warm welcome to my sister, so any tips would be most welcome. I'm so happy she's coming. She speaks Russian, of course, but she barely knows English and doesn't have a clue about Portuguese. Hahaha. It'll be fun. She's going to have a good time, she loves music and wants to come to my recitals and stuff. I'm really glad. Well, if someone can help me, I really appreciate! Thank you all!!!! |

You are delightful Yara. Your mind is like a surrealistic painting. The reason human society has water treatment plants is because our fish brethren make sweet love in the H2O obviously. And yes the SINISTER FISH INDUSTRY tells us that we should only buy fish that is clear eyed, has shiny scales and doesn't smell bad and are smiling for the sake of our health, but in reality it is a pretty front designed to hide the oppression of our aquatic friends. The mating of the salmon species is a bittersweet poem tis' true, but not a greater poem than the noble mother sea turtle who returns to the beach on which she was born to lay her own eggs. |

I have just re-listened with a friend to Rush's "A show of hands", and it's such a great live album. Geddy Lee was (I don't now whether he still is in top form!) such an amazing talent. Wonderful bassist and musicians and a very fine singer with a mellow, sweet tune and a pretty impressive vocal range; in this recording, he's often squarely in tune and finishes the concert with the same flair he started it. I like "Exit...stage left", but this one I like better, I love "Manhattan Connection", what a great song. "Big Money", "Time Stand Still", "Witch Hunt", great concert. And there are some staples of their repertoire like "Closer to the Heart" (good perfomance of this one, the sound of the bass is very prominent). Well, what a great band they were! I haven't listented to their stuff ever since "Roll The Bones", I guess. But they were quite good. |
