The first night in Osaka is another great early tour show. Freddie, although his range is limited, continues to sing these shows with much passion. Great version of Somebody To Love.
Before Fat Bottomed Girls, Freddie says, "This is all about you little girls with great big tits." He receives no reaction, and then continues, "I'm sure you know what I mean. You're just not reacting." While he says that, a male audience member obnoxiously shouts out, "Ohhhh yeah!" Freddie, clearly pleased, says, "Yeeeeeees, you do."
In the middle section of Don't Stop Me Now, Brian accidentally hits a B chord when it's supposed to be in C, so he constucts a riff for a few bars, making it sound as musical as possible, eventually returning to the B chord, as if he meant to play it that way all along. Very well done! The song soon makes its way into the usual guitar solo, and it's a very tasty one.
Another small musical tidbit: Just before the first chorus of Get Down Make Love, on "Everybody", Brian had stopped playing the pentatonic lick many months ago, but decided to play it again on this night. I think this is the last time he would do this, a great little piece of musical texture. link link link link link link link link link
As always, don't sell this recording, mp3 just for private use, enjoy
