Re-post: Mrs. Mercury, thanks for warning me and sorry for taking a bit long to answer! I explain: she reported to me that the links for this concert weren't there anymore, so I'm just re-posting them, ok? It's nothing new, it's the same I had uploaded before, ok? I hope you're all doing fine. Here are the links: part1: link part2: link part3: link part4: link part5: link part6: link part7: link part8: link part9 +info: link And below my original message. Hahaha, it was fun to read it again, my friend said it sounds as if I were on drugs, but I see no problem in it! "Hi, people! It's me, Yara. lol Well, here I am, aren't it? Yes...I am. Indeed. Well, I bet you all have this one, since it's a concert Queen fans treasure in their hearts and hold dear and love and listen to and have listented to thousands and thousands and billions of millions of times. Yes. It was originally uploaded here in the community by user RG9L - so...THANKS RG9L. Thank very much for sharing this one, and, of course, thanks to: KEITH, from Dime, and ZEPHEAD2112, who made it available. People, sad news. First of all, I'm, indeed, uploading the concert I downloaded here to mediafire. I'm doing it. But, first, I'll post the results I got when I tested the files before uploading. And, people, the results are not very encouraging. It may be lossy. My program is not that sound, so I ask if you'd be so kind as to help us sort out, with better programs and more knowledge, whether it is lossy or lossless, where it comes from, and well, all these things. Don't think I like any of this, ok? I don't...I don't...if you wanted make me cry, you succeeded... [yara sobbing] ...and I hope I'm crying in good sound English. lol KEITH, ZEPHEAD2112 AND RG9L ARE NOT TO DOUBT, PLEASE - ON THE CONTRARY, I KNOW THEY DID THEIR BEST TO MAKE THIS ONE AVAILABLE AND I LISTENED TO IS HUNDREDS OF TIMES, AND IT MAY WELL BE THE CASE THAT MY PROGRAM IS NOT VERY GOOD AT DETECTING THESE THINGS OR I'M NOT INTERPRETING THE RESULTS CORRECTLY. EITHER WAY, THE THREE SHOULD BE THANKED, I GUESS: [yara applauding rg9l, zephead2112 and Keith]" |

And now... THE INFO AND THE DOWNLOAD LINKS. QUOTING: "rg9L WROTE: As promised, here's the torrent for everyone who aren't able to download from DimeADozen. Original comments: Dear Queenies, For those of you on Dime, I just uploaded this. Give me some time and I will try to upload it here also. I'm new to all this shit so bear with me. I hope it's worth the effort and people can enjoy this superb recording. Cheers, Keith. QUEEN - FLASH ALIVE (Wembley Arena, 8th December, 1980) - Transfer From Japanese Double LP FLASH ALIVE Direct Transfer fom Japanese LP USB turntable Audacity Export Wav format FLAC encoded" This has always been my favourite Queen bootleg. A great performance and lots of power, particularly showcasing Brian May's fantastic guitar sound. I saw Queen a lot when I was younger and there's not many that can match their production. A good friend of mine had this LP when we were at school. Such is the volume, we once trashed my speakers whilst listening to the 'Overture' at full tilt. My friend later sold his copy which is something he has always regretted. I hung on to my taped copy for years before deciding to track down the original LP myself; not an easy feat as it is now extremely rare and expensive (I paid £200 for it a couple of years ago). Although it is a very good copy, I had it professionally cleaned before transferring it to my PC. I'm afraid that my technical skills are lacking in this area and I simply used a USB turntable and Audacity. However, I think it's turned out well and IMO, it's a lot better than the recent 'Standing On The Arena' CD bootleg release. This is my first donation and as such, I hope I'm doing everything correctly. I didn't attempt to remove all the vinyl clicks as; a. I didn't want to mess with the recording too much and b. I wanted to hear the odd snap crackle and pop for old times sake. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Check out BM's guitar towards the end of Fat Bottomed Girls. There's a brief pause before it kicks back in with the beat. What a beautiful sound! A great performance and lots of power, particularly showcasing Brian May's fantastic guitar sound. I would urge anybody who isn't familiar with this bootleg to give it a few spins. After a while, it becomes a complete monster. I saw Queen a lot when I was younger and there's not many that can match their production. A good friend of mine had this LP when we were at school. What a beautiful sound! The vocals and guitar solo on Save Me are just heart-wrenching and listen to the crowd as BM steps to the front and delivers the solo in Play The Game. Vintage BM Bends! Now I still pause before writing, hahaha, but I know is Daffy_the_Duck. :-) Like, first time, I read: "Dafty_the_Dutch". : op My mind is weird. |

I was at this show and remember the next day going to the local market in London and buying the bootleg on cassette, and great quality too. Boy, those were the days. Wish I still had those tapes. Thanks for this |

Please, tell us more about it, your impressions, how it was like, the audience, the performance, if you were next to the stage, if you took any pictures you'd like to show us, how was Freddie's moustache at the beginning of the moustache era, how did the crowd reacted when he asked them whether they liked the moustache and so on, I mean, tell us everything you feel like telling!!!! The tapes! I have to track them down. [putting the police cap and loading the gun. Yara pushes coops against the wall] What was the last time you saw these tapes? [coops refuses to answer, and Yara beats him with the barrel of the gun] Tell me! Where are the tapes? lol Ah....really, THANK YOU A LOT COOPS. A LOT, A LOT, A LOT, THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS WITH US. IT WAS THE MOST PRECIOUS GIFT I COULD EVER HAVE EARNED: KNOWING THAT THROUGH SIMPLE GESTURES I INDIRECTLY HELPED YOU BRINGING SOME GOOD MEMORIES!!!! I LOVED IT! *hug* [weird, I was just beating you and now hugging...lol] |

One of the problems with getting old is that the details get lost. I have seen Queen (with Freddie)9 times I think. I remember this show as being really loud. The thrill of being there, who I was with, and the feeling of what we had experienced as we walked to the tube station in the cool night air after the show remain. Brians solo's, Freddies facial hair etc are forgotten. I did see them again at Wembley Arena four years later for the works tour. That was bloody loud too. I saw Queen and PR in Meadowlands and Jax, and thought the sound level was low. Perhaps after all these years my hearing is going, just like my mother said it would lol. |

Thank you Yara for giving people the chanche to get this amazing concert! |
Yara 22.05.2008 09:30 |
Awesome, Daffy_the_Duck. Thank you so much!!! Daffy, Daffy, Daffy!!! And thanks for caring about it! It seems to be such an important one for Queen fans. The flac fingerprints of your files are different as those of the ones shared here - and yours are really lossless, though there's no info. What do we do know? Stay with the "maybe lossy", with info, or go for the lossless, without the info, the unknown source? :0 Help me, Daffy! [Yara drowning...] |
daffy_the_duck 22.05.2008 12:42 |
Well, the most part of your files are (seems) lossless, a hiss reduction or a I-dont-know-why-remaster? Another view? |

MY favourite Queen show- many thanks !! |

riccardo wrote: Great concert but the old version (Standing on the Arena) sounds better!Great! I didn't even know there was a better sounding version! Do you have it? Like, lossless, in Flac? If so, I'd just love if you uploaded it here, I like this concert too. I guess every Queen fan likes this concert. Hahaha. But the concert at 10th December is even better. Thanks for the reply. Let's hope the better version comes up! Yara |
riccardo 09.06.2008 09:17 |
Dear Yara, unfortunately I don' t have this gig; I had only heard it as a 30 second example on this site: link. I can say that it sounds better because I made a comparison between the same parts. I hope that somebody will upload the "Standing on the Arena" version because it seems much better. Cheers |
pittrek 09.06.2008 11:31 |
Do you really prefer standing on the Arena ? |
The Real Wizard 09.06.2008 11:58 |
It seems it's one of those matters of personal preference. Some people like the smoother-sounding mid-range EQ of Standing, but others like the more live-sounding top/bottom-end EQ of the LP. I'm on the latter boat. To me, nothing beats that punchy live sound. |
Mrs. Mercury 17.07.2008 23:07 |
You are so sweet to upload all these great concerts to mediafire for those of us who can't do torrents. I was wondering if you could repost the links, however, because it appears they have been deleted. :( Thanks again! |
