I've put together a qucik list of all Queen's concert introductions, apart from one-off, truncated shows like Live Aid where they started with bo Rap. Is this them all?
1973 Tape of Procession then live Father to Son
1974 Tape of Procession then live Now Im Here
1976 Tape of Bo Rap then liveOgre battle
1977 Tape of Procession then live Tie Your Mother Down
1977 Tape of A Day at the Races intro. then live TYMD
1977 Tape of slow We will rock you then fast live version
1978 Tape of thunder then fast We Will Rock You
1979 Tape of thunder then live Jailhouse Rock
1981 Tape of thunder then live WWRY fast
1982 Tape of Flash then live The Hero
1982 Tape of Flash then live Rock It
1982 Tape of Flash then live fast WWRY
1984 Tape of Machines then live Tear It Up
1986 tape of machines then live TYMD? (Hannover)
1986 Taped intro. then live One Vision
Although I mostly prefer Queen's 1970s output, my preference here is for the 1986 One Vision
intro. A nice build up of tension and then a real heavy song. I love the LP Livekillers intro with the thunder and then fast veriosn of WWRY but that's probably the best ever version of that song and many other WWRY fast versions were messy (for example, at Milton Keynes)
A couple of quick notes:
1. I don't believe Machines ever went directly into TYMD. As far as I know, the shortened Tear It Up was always played first. The Rock in Rio video omits Tear It Up (with one of the worst edits ever), so that may be causing your confusion.
*Edit to expand upon this: There was no Hannover show in 1986. Several shows in Germany, but they, like all Magic Tour shows, started with One Vision. Hannover was played in 1984, however--the concert where Freddie falls just after Hammer to Fall, injures his knee, and cuts the concert short. The bootleg of that show contains the shortened Tear It Up played after the Machines intro and before TYMD.
2. Likewise, I don't think the Flash tape ever led straight into WWRY (fast). I seem to recall The Hero or the abbreviated Rock It always coming first.
3. If you want to get technical about it, the Earl's Court intro was Procession (from tape), the Teo Torriate outro (from tape), then TYMD live.
4. Again, if you want to get technical, the ANATO tour opening was Bo Rhap's opera (from tape), then Bo Rhap's rock section performed live. Ogre Battle was the second song in the set...sort of. A tiny little pinch of it was played before the operatic section of BR kicked in.
5. Getting even more ridiculously technical, the 1976 summer mini-tour's intro isn't listed. It went ADATR intro from tape, Bo Rhap opera from tape, Bo Rhap rock live.
Good list, Queen's intros are some of the most creative out there, and (up until the Works tour), some of the most surprisingly simple (musically speaking--lights, smoke and pyro are a different story!) too.

Thanks for this. Hannover date is definitely wrong and the mistake does indeed come from Rock in Rio.
