Someone has started a thread on followqueen which says Sheffield is ALL seated? I have already asked Jacky for a standing ticket!
Does anyone else know about this?
Hi, I work just across from the Sheffield Arena, Called into the box office today & was told that, yes indeed, it is an all seated event this time. I wonder if the stage will have the "catwalk" type platform in the middle like in 2005? Wembley pavillion arena was all seated in 2005, I don't think it spoilt the atmos' too much.

Well- the sound was so horrible nobody really cared about seats...
But it sucks- I hate all seating gigs... what's the bloody point- everybody are gonna be standing ANYWAY- the only difference is- the first row are gonna be taken by some random idiots who have no clue about the band but could pay on eBay or wherever they could... mark my words...
When you have standing area- it's up to you and your dedication how close to the stage you'll end up. But with seating... I guess I'm gonna think really hard about Sheffield... The audience at the last gig at Hallam was terrible anyway...
Yeah, Dortmund was all seated as well last time.
Least enjoyable show of the tour for me...
So boring.
Especially when, after Brian invited us to come to the stage right before he started his acoustic set, and fans were nevertheless kicked by security when they only stood up from their seats...
I went to see The Who at newcastle arena, it was all seater, but everyone stood up and pushed down the front and took no notice of the seats, i think the same would happen if Queen went all seater. PS The Who were Awesome.

Even though Sheffield is my home city, I have to agree with you, the Sheffield crowd were a bit of a boring lot, (not me personally, I was jumping up and Down) Birmingham NEC a couple of gigs prior to Sheffield had a 70% better atmosphere, I also attended all 3 London gigs that year & to be honest even though Brian commented on Wembley Pavillion (the Giant Tent) being a "shithole" I didn't think the overall atmosphere at the venue was that bad, but then again I was on the 6th row from the stage, I can't really comment on what the atmos' was like elsewhere in the tent, maybe, right at the back the show was not that good? tell me?
The five gigs that I attended in 2005, in my opinion, for atmosphere, in order.
1. Brixton (Small venue, all Queen fans)
2. Birmingham NEC (the crowd rocked)
3. Hyde Park (Gold circle)
4. Wembley ( all seated event, don't know what was happening at the back)
5. Sheffield (sob!!! my home city. remixed to sound good on the CD/DVD)
Hi, Regarding "The Sheffield Arena", I don't know what to say. It is now back to the original plans, Standing & seats. I don't think they Know what the bloody hell is going on???? here's a link to the seating plan: link
Maybe, if I phone the box office tomorrow, they will probably tell me that "Freddie" is now fronting the band instead of "Paul", or now the seating plan is, everybody standing on their heads with their fingers in their ears.
Old name "Hallam FM arena" The "FM" standing for F**king Morons. Not all Sheffielders are this incompetent, sorry!!!!.
Can you remember all the confusion over the floor area being standing or Seated. Well I did say that the "Sheffield Arena Box office" did not know what their right hand was doing from their Left.
Well it now seems, that the floor area is now both Standing(Front) and seating(Rear).
I just feel sorry for all those people that bought Seating but could only get seats that were waaay!!!! at the back of the arena, as the new floor seating area is nearer the stage.
