This claims to be a clip of The Hero in Vienna on May 12, 1982. It's great sound quality, and the picture looks semi-professionally filmed. Anyone know anything about this? Is it what it claims to be and is the full concert available
This is from Frankfurt 82 filmed by DoRo for a documentary. This specific YouTube piece was taken from an Austrian broadcast of the documentary, you can see the ORF logo.
This is great Queen performance of the HERO but in my opinion the Bowl version ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and is a even better performance, although not too dissimilar.
Follow that Paul Rodgers!and the rest of you wanabees.

Thanks YV. This is a great version of one of my favourite songs. I love hearing the Flash gordon stuff live. Wonder is there any footage of Vultan's Theme/battle Theme around?* They played it on the Japanese leg of the 81 tour, for example at Tokyo Budokan February 17, 1981.
It's also pretty amazing to see the way the band members 'own' the stage in this clip. Fantastic stage presence.
*edit: check this out. best thing I've seen in ages: link
An old thread...
Here's a new link. Not my Youtube channel or material, I just think this is great. As someone says in the comments, Brian's guitar has real bite. How did it sound so good here yet so thin at Milton Keynes? Fred was boss here too. He hardly even looks at the crowd :) link
For me Brian's guitar tone peaked in '82 and it sounds pretty awesome on all the pro stuff: Japan; SNL; New Haven; Vienna & Frankfurt. The only recording where it sounds absolutely shit is typically on the official release, Milton Keynes.

I agree. I think it sounds great on Live Killers too. WWRY (fast) is my favourite live version of that song.
