Ok, a few days ago the brilliant Olivier uploaded again the QPR Barcelona show (what a week, during the last days have surfaced many QPR shows, thankyou again Olivier, Pittrek, Maruga, etc!) and I decided to post in his thread an artwork I created for that specific show a long time ago. After that, I´ve decided it´s time to share with you some artwork I´ve created (or re-designed) during the last year or so. If I didn´t do it before is simply ... because I felt a little embarrassed about people´s reaction and silly things like that. It all began the first time I discovered, and enjoyed, the work from Jean, or "jean lejeune", who has made a lot of beautiful dvd and cd covers (see the "More Of That Covers" thread). His style really caught me, but there were some details about certain covers that I didn´t like at all, or thought could be bettered, so I started playing and trying to design my own covers or, sometimes, re-designing existing ones. Ok, I stop bla bla bla and go for it. I´ll post my work in cronological order of creation, so you´ll be able to note the evolution of my style (from poor+ to poor-) ;) As I´ve never had music to share (only the Brian May Barcelona DVD I created and posted here a looong time ago), this is my way to say thanks to all of you. It´s because all your work and efforts that my Queen collection is getting bigger and bigger everyday. Many thanks again For each cover I´ll put down some notes. Hope you like it !! And we start with: Queen+Paul Rodgers: Milano April 5th ´05 DVD This is the first one I made. The front cover picture is actually from the Firenze show, but at that time I still didn´t know about the Firenze DVD, so although I have a couple of versions with a front cover picture of the Milano show, I always loved this one much more. The back pictures are from the Milano gig, and so is the ticket, wich I think I got from the amazing link site. |

Queen + Paul Rodgers: Roma, April 4th ´05 DVD This is the "Two Disc Edition", with the arena and balcony shots. Front cover picture come from the Paris show, if I remember well. All pictures used for the back side are from Roma |

Queen + Paul Rodgers: Milwaukee March 27th ´06 DVD This was my first "re-design", as I liked and left the back cover as it was originally designed by Jean, but re-worked the front cover. The Paul & Brian picture is actually from Pittsburgh, I think. The final result made me feel proud for the first time. |

Queen & Paul Rodgers: Stockholm April 30th ´05 DVD My first "elaborated" work. I used two different pictures from Brian and Paul and made a composition for the front cover (even copying and pasting the little lights seen behind them). The crowd picture of the background is from this show. I left the background picture of the back side used by Jean in his original work, and added screen shots The overall design follows the pattern used for the Milwaukee cover and future works to come. |

Queen + Paul Rodgers: Firenze April 7th´05 DVD Finally the Firenze DVD came to light, and as I used a great pic from this show on the Milano DVD cover, I decided to use the best I had, as couldn´t get any great picture from Firenze. So, the front pic is from Rotterdam. And the rest ... I don´t know ! I really like this one for the combination of vivid colours, inspired in the lights used during the AKOM performance. |

Queen: Barcelona, February 20th ´79 CD No pics of this particular show available, so I used some of the same era. For the front cover I used the "Jazz frame" originally designed by HCV in his Chicago ´78 artwork. By the way, take a look at his work, I love it !! |

Now let´s go to Aruba for some relaxing vacation! Queen & Paul Rodgers: Aruba, October 8th 2005 DVD I really, really like this one. Only used screenshots from this dvd to create the complete artwork (main & background pictures) |

And finally my last finished work to date: Queen & Paul Rodgers: Live In Japan This is a sort of "fantasy" of my own. We are all dreaming of boxsets and things like that, and really complaining about how poor (of contents) was the ROTC dvd; Super Live in Japan was a little better, as included the Budapest bonus (wich in fact didn´t fit in a japanese release, imho), so I let my imagination fly and: Live In Japan Five-Disc Edition DISC 1 (video): Saitama Super Arena, Tokyo, Oct 27 2005 DISC 2 & 3 (audio): same as above DISC 4 & 5 (audio): Yokohama Arena, Oct 30 2005 The video I used for Disc 1 was the original TV broadcast before Super Live In Japan was released. Disc 2 & 3 had the audio ripped from that broadcast. I included Yokohama on Discs 4 & 5 as the audio quality is also very very good. Much better than Nagoya or Fukuoka, in fact. |

Thanks Vali, I will look at all your beautiful covers. In fact, I just wanted to wait for other shares to be done here, and I was asking myself if after that I could ask you if you had created or could create the missing covers... It woul have been the right time, after having collected the shows in themselves, to collect pictures also ! You beat me. I love your work. Great !! No one can beat you. Except Mr Lejeune and Alex Solan maybe, those guys too are experts in that field ! In fact, I saw some other forums where artwork was quite immediately created by someone after a share, and I found that was really great, to share one's recording and get the artwork done immediately after that. Regards, Olivier, France. |

Many thanks for your kind words Olivier; I´m really glad you like my work. You mention Jean Lejeune and Alex Solan ... well, to me they are the real masters in this field here at QZ (and HCV! who is HCV?). The few covers I´ve created were inspired (sometimes even borrowed) from their work. Without them, my covers wouldn´t have been done. I like to say also that I´m not an expert on designing covers. I´d rather be playing guitar or singing with my band. I´m not a "creating machine" like Jean or Alex Solan, so my designs take time. But, anyway, I´ll be happy to attend any demmand from your side if the project attracts me. In fact, with the arrival of the new QPR tour in september, I guess I´ll be very busy in that aspect, he he ;) Well, now I can say I hope to post in a few days a design I started some months ago and will hopefully end soon: Knebworth ´86 DVD. It was started at the same time as the QPR Aruba and Japan, but suddenly I quitted creating artwork as I decided to focus in creating/recording music. But, ok, now I want to finish it very soon: Knebworth ´86 DVD next project after that: QPR Hyde Park 2005 CD cheers ! |

Hey Vali, really nice covers, thank you. Would it be a problem for you to create some covers for the concerts I shared in my "Best Of The Best" threads ? |

I´ll be off work for some days and will stay at home, as I received a little surgery in my left hand today. This means I still have my right hand to create covers with the computer so .... ok, I´ll give it a try. Your "Best of The Best" project is excellent and it´d deserve some nice artwork! cheers |
