Hey people... You have to download this one: link The uploader contacted me some time ago, and this is a really nice surprise. His notes: This is from my 1st gen tapes I bought from the taper back in 1984, a few days after the show took place. I think this is a really good recording (only Bohemian Rapsody is a little bit "ruined"). But, most of all, it seems to me that a complete recording from this night is not so easy to find; in fact I' ve searched several lists and sites of QUEEN collectors, but almost all of them have the recordings taken from bootlegs that doesn' t have the complete recording For more details take a look at: link but please note that even this great site says that the circulating version of this gig is taken from two different boots and is not complete (no Jailhouse Rock). Enjoy and share. CD1 01. Machines Intro- Tear It Up 02. Tie Your Mother Down 03. Under Pressure 04. Somebody To Love 05. Killer Queen 06. Seven Seas Of Rhye 07. Keep Yourself Alive 08. Liar 09. I'll post this here (in torrent, of course) once I've completed it and once I've finished upping Leipzig - one thing at a time! |

People, don't thank me... Give thanks to Vittorio, who bought this in tapes long ago, and transferred them to FLAC. I was contacted by him, and I thought this could be something really interesting since it's a first generation tape. He asked me if people would be greatful by getting this gem. And so I hope the people downloading this at Dime say "thank you"... not so many thanks at the moment, but I hope everybody say thanks. I could have said (like other people do) "give it to me, and I'll give you something rare in exchange", but I didn't... Because I'm not a hoarder... and I also hope this can teach a lesson to those hoarders, which makes the Queen traders community one of the worsts... I hope to not offend anybody by saying this, but it's true. We know several people hoarding recordings instead of sharing or trading them... Common people, let's open the doors and start to share all what we have. I've said.... |
Maruga 04.05.2008 22:53 |
A small analysis: After listening to the concert, I can say that this is a gem and it's genuine. Near to excellent quality. There are a couple of problems: 1. Some clicks between tracks, probably because Vittorio (the uploader) isn't an expert in this issue. I contacted Alex Solan, who cleaned my Dublin 2005, and I'm waiting an answer to know if he will do the job. 2. Bohemian Rhapsody is a total mess. Maybe tape/record machine problems. It has lots of dropouts, but is part of the recording, and I really don't know if it can be fixed. 3. Right after Radio Ga Ga there is a cut... Probably to save tape. Thank you Vittorio for this gem, and I hope everybody will enjoy this one, say thanks to the uploader, stop hoarding recordings and enjoy it. Tracklist: CD 1: 01. Machines Intro - Tear It Up 2:48 02. Great !! Thanks Maruga, thanks a lot Alex too !! I can't go on Dime so I can't thank the original sharer, but one thing for sure, giving us this 1st gen concert is a real nice gift. Thank him for me ! Can't stand to find the show on Queenzone, and sure Alex's work will be helpful ! Regards, Olivier, France. |

Yes this recordind is amazing, really... I need some clarification. This recording has nothing in common with Elizabeth or WWLY, is it? And secondly, this gig was shared here last year and Bootluca, if I remember correctly, shared with us Jailhouse Rock from his version. So If I understand everything correctly, this is a 4th version? |

Any other bootleg with BoRhap to the end is from the first night, regardless of what it says on the cover. daffy_the_duck wrote: And secondly, this gig was shared here last year and Bootluca, if I remember correctly, shared with us Jailhouse Rock from his version. So If I understand everything correctly, this is a 4th version?Exactly. Not counting home-made versions, there's "We Will Love You" (a combination of both nights), the Elizabeth II LP (incomplete, but with the last tracks minus Jailhouse), Bootluca's alternate source, and then this wonderful new RoIO... a pre-LP/pre-silver first gen tape. |

Wait & see |

It's what they do best! But it's not all a bad thing... some people really like the artwork and see them as collectibles, regardless of what music is on there. |

I've downloaded & listened to this show and I arrived to the conclusion that it has no gaps at all between tracks, except some cuts that I'll edit to smooth 'em (fade in's & out's) Did you use Winamp to listen to the FLACs Maruga? |

And I heard at least 3 clicks... But if you used another software to hear it, maybe use Winamp, and you'll see :) |

I used Winamp to listen to the show, I always use this soft, listened again and didn't find gaps between every track except a couple that seem more like a glitch from the original cassette... |

<b><font color="blue">Maruga wrote:Haha it's okay, a glitch it's more like a skip or error in a tape, could be found in the middle of a song, not especifically at the end/beginning of it.Alex Solan. wrote: I used Winamp to listen to the show, I always use this soft, listened again and didn't find gaps between every track except a couple that seem more like a glitch from the original cassette...I can't identify the difference between a gap and a glitch xD That's why I contacted you ;) Those well-known gaps we find commonly in some recordings like Dublin 2005 are caused by a prob during ripping process or editing those WAVs before converting 'em to FLAC. I'll check for 3rd time and do some edits but the previous two times I listened to the show didn't find any significative gap between tracks ;-) |

Hello everybody. Well it seems that my recording of the Milan show pleased many of you: GREAT !!! You don' t have to say thanks to me: "I" have to say thanks to you !!! My biggest reward is seeing how many people downloaded it and how much enthusiasm it generated !!! I don' t notice any gaps/clicks between songs; I' ve converted the flacs to wav and burned on CD and then listend in my car: no gaps/clicks at all. I' ve used the same process I used to transfer about 50 other shows from my huge tapes collection (I started collecting/trading tapes back in the 80's) and I never noticed gaps/clicks in my transfers. Just let me know if you think I' d better do the job again. All the best. All the best from Italy |

Just let me know if you think I' d better do the job again. That's amazing that you're open to that possibility. All I can point out is that there is some tape hiss. Did you transfer the tape in the best way possible? Was it a good cassette deck? Did you align the azimuth to find the "sweet spot"? I don' t know if the hiss depends from the fact that tapes are cheap ones, or maybe it' s just that they are 24 years old. I made the transfer this way: from tape (TECHNICS deck, old but good) to CD-RW (PHILIPS cd recorder) and then to my PC for the usual editing with CD WAVE. I don' t know if I have done everything in the best possible way: if any of you is interested, I can send him my tapes so he can try another transfer: just let me know !!! |
