I was searching stuff on youtube and came across the Sweet Lady footage from the ANATO DVD (I think that´s the one). But... I found also 50 seconds of Prophet´s Song and 30 seconds from the Bohemian Rhapsody Medley in similar image and sound! Are they also from the same ANATO DVD???... I don´t have it, and my doubt is if a master version is floating around! I must say The Prophet´s Song delay is a bit weird... is this all sourced from ANATO DVD? Bohemian Rhapsody: link Prophet´s Song: link EDIT: Sorry if my question is dumb, but I don´t have the DVD, and all that I know is that Sweet Lady is on that, but I never heard of anything else! |
pittrek 04.05.2008 05:32 |
Yes, it's all on the same DVD |
The Real Wizard 04.05.2008 12:54 |
Wow... I'd never seen these clips before! There were many versions of the ANATO DVD, and these songs aren't on mine. The footage of Sweet Lady was broadcast on the OGWT in the 70s, so it was always possible that only that song was preserved. But now after seeing these two clips, the chances of an official release are much, much greater. |
pittrek 04.05.2008 13:04 |
I'm just working on something VERY related to this thread and ALL existing clips will be used :-) |
tonimau 04.05.2008 13:53 |
One thing is for sure, these clips are NOT sourced from the OGWT, and somewhere in the vaults there has to be a full perfect video version of this. I would like to know what Pittrek is doing. If I had the time and skill, I would join the best audience source and sync it with the QTV video. The available bits from this great source shown in youtube would also be used :-) (altough if they are really from the ANATO DVD such a thing would be highly illegal!, so stick with audience/video mix) |

Pittrek. I realise you may not want to tell us all what your plans are, but if you do then maybe some folks on here will have material you could use... Will it be NTSC or PAL? |
pittrek 05.05.2008 06:27 |
Oh why didn't I keep my mouth shot ? :-) It's PAL |

*kick* How are you doing with this, pittrek? To add something to your list: the Somebody To Love video ;-) I remember the big explosion being there at the end of In The Lap Of The Gods...revisited. Plus some more bits of the concert. I watched the Hyde Park video yesterday again after a very long time. I still think it's one of the greatest footage of Queen ever. It's beautifully filmed, wonderful angles. It gives the viewer a clear image of the whole show. And what about all those wonderful light/smoke effects? Brilliant. The opening is great and the ending even greater. The people at QP should realize that this is what Queen fans would like to see. It's not just a concert, it's a piece of music history. |

I'm pretty sure they have great audio and video from Hyde Park. I think this will be e future live release. From time to time they want to give the fans something exciting and I think and hope this will be it. |

Don't forget about the precious toothbrushes... and those little cars with Queen pictures on them! We want a book with ALL of them listed, with full explanations of who built the cars, painted them, and the names of the first ten people who purchased them. This is ever so important... !! After that, I suppose maybe we can deal with a DVD, if we in our ways of treason may even deserve it. We should hang our heads in shame for wanting new product. |

Sir GH.And since it was an important show, hopefully the audio was properly recorded and has survived. It was recorded straight to stereo for radio broadcast and they recorded a multitrack feed aswell. It's also safe to say all the footage exists in perfect quality aswell. It won't ever be released though because it doesn't fit in with the image of Queen that QPL have chosen to go with. The next live DVD is guaranteed to be Live In Rio. |

Why, WHY are you being SO negative??? We all know we are getting another Montreal '81 DVD release. YOO-HOO!!! This time, answering the numerous pleas from the fans, it will be a non-anamorphic 4:3 transfer, yes! glorious fullscreen, with digitally added grain and the restored mono mix as originally approved by John Deacon in 1984. This new edition, out for a limited time only, will be called QUEEN ROCKS (with an S) MONTREAL! (yes, the exclamation mark will be there too, and perhaps another: !! I know this is too exciting, YEAH!, but I must emphasise that a final decision has not been made in this subject - so watch this space). A 28th Anniversary Special Collector's Edition package WILL BE issued in conjunction, containing several LaserDiscs, so the most anachronic amongst us should not feel themselves excluded! Everybody, let's save for Christmas!!! (let's save space!) |
