The question is simple - which videos from this concert exist ?
All known sources include
1) the 8-10 min version (depending on the speed) including Modern Times Rock'n'Roll and Son And Daughter
2) intro to Modern Times Rock'n'Roll
The source 1 is usually in barely watchable quality, and all versions I have seen run too slow, but every version runs in slightly different speed. One version was shared on queenitalia.it, other version was released on the famous bootleg DVD "Rare Live 2" and many other versions can be easily found on Youtube. But the question is where did this all come from ? Was it shot on film or video ? Was it shot by BBC or by the Queen crew or somebody else ?
Source 2 is only a few seconds long, BUT it is in perfect quality. It's the intro to Modern Times Rock'n'Roll and it can be found in the documentary "When Freddie Met Kenny". Does more of the footage exist in this quality ? According to queenlive.ca a few seconds of Son And Daughter were shown on british television. Does anybody know something about that ? Like the name of the TV station, name of the programme ...
And of course - do you know any other sources, even few seconds long ?
I'm pretty sure the few seconds of Son And Daughter were shown on the tv program 'Pop Quiz' hosted by Mike Reid on BBC1. It was an early 80s program, which had Roger Taylor as guest on (I think) two occasions.
That sucks. I wish that Roger had sung it live while he was playing the drums. So I understand what you are saying that Freddie Mercury sang it on all of the known live recordings are you indicating that Roger did sometimes or at somepoint sing it live himself?
