dobo 08.04.2008 13:04 |
didn't sound too bad bit like status quo lol, at least theres some promotion for the tour and the studio version of c-lebrity sounded quite nice well the snippet of it |
Jjeroen 08.04.2008 13:13 |
Oh my... Although it is of course a bit rediciolous to judge something hearing only 3 seconds... but sounds like the production (esp percussion) ruins the rocking sound of C-leb, and that 'the cosmos rocking' bit...?? Sorry, but that just sounds pathetic. |

I'll rather listen to a fast pop-rock than some kind of blues song... It doesn't sound much like Queen though. |

C-lebrity was horrid. Absolutely horrible. What a commercialized piece of shit song. Q+PR were great live a couple years ago (and ROTC rocks), but if the new album is chock full of songs simlar to C-lebrity, I will not be returning to see Q+PR. |
Rick 08.04.2008 16:55 |
Are you ready Roger? Uhuh Brian? Yeah Spike? Okay Aaaaaalrrrrrigggght fellas, let's go! "We got the cosmos rockin'!" For the ones who thought Queen were original! In store now! Make sure you also check out the other classics, like Rockin' All Over The Universe, I Was Made For Travelling Baby and don't forget their biggest oldie goldie ET On The Run. |

That clip is both bizarre and frightening. I hope they havent slipped into weird cheesyness. Nows the time for adult, serious rock music because it was Freddie who seemed to bring most of the tongue in cheek - better to make an interesting album than fall into some sort of cringeworthy Quo tribute band style! |

Well... I could be the only one saying so but... I loved that 3'' sample! Forget 'Queen'! It sounds good. Not new, but still good. And btw, I already love C-leb :-) I liked it a lot though it reminds me of a Judas Priest song |

Cosmos rocking sounds like Roger´s Fun in Space or Strange Frontier era. |

Not bad--at all. I can relate to all the analyzers on these boards; but what sense is it to analyze maybe three or five seconds of radio-meshed advertisement. Even the simplest of philosophers will tell you not to trust the media's interpretation. |

Some one on this board made a joke remark abouot brian and roger going crazy in the studio without Freddie to control them, it actually seems like that is what has happened. this far weve got an aids-awareness-ballad overblown into unrecognition, a song complaining about c-lebritys and some kind of status quo-style boogie-woogie song about "rocking the cosmos". throw in a cover version of red house to this.. i think this is going to be one very strange album. personally i love it though, they werent exctly dead serious or un-cheesy when Freddie was alive either. |
PieterMC 09.04.2008 08:13 |
kingogre wrote: they werent exctly dead serious or un-cheesy when Freddie was alive either. They wrote good songs though. Freddie had the ability to pull off the humor. I just don't think any attempts at that without him are going to work. |

it didn't sound good to me... like Status Quo... I hate Status Quo... I duuno- don't want to judge the song by 3 second clip- that would be ridiculous ;) But I'm yet to hear something REALLY big, REALLY good... Mind you- I like C-LEBRITY, but... still waiting for sth huge... |

I really think that people are jumping the gun and assuming that one can judge a song by a three second clip, as well as an album by only hearing two full songs (One of them being performed live). I wonder what people who had, or 'now' have no idea who Queen really is, and what they would think if someone played 3 seconds from the opera section of "Bohemian Rhapsody." I'm not saying there's anything on the album that's going to be a masterpiece...but I'm not saying there isn't either. Let's just keep all of this in perspective here. |
