The fan ticket presales - a joke
| YourValentine 02.04.2008 04:46 |
The FC and QOL online presales are ridiculously overpriced. They want 10% fee for each ticket plus delivery costs for the whole package UK - £6.00 EU - £15.00 USA/Canada/ROW - £20.00 To buy 4 tickets for Rome and Milano I would have to pay 31 pounds extra fee and delivery which is a bloody joke. - Plus I cannot choose a seat, I only get standing tickets for the European gigs (unspecified seats for the UK) - Plus the UK standing tickets cost 10 pounds more than Jacky asked in the Fan Club presales Good job by the Fan Clubs, mainly Jacky and the Germans, very professional. Poorest possible show by QOL, very pathetic. First the mailing list chaos and now the major rip off for the most faithful fans |
| Mr. Scully 02.04.2008 05:09 |
"To buy 4 tickets for Rome and Milano I would have to pay 31 pounds extra fee and delivery which is a bloody joke." It used to be "buy four tickets, get one free". Now it's "get four tickets, pay for five" :-) QOL is pathetic but what did we expect? Surely it's no fun to sell tickets to so many gigs in advance but this is just a joke, really. |
| Jeroen 02.04.2008 05:10 |
Tshu... apart from the indeed shameful prices... Just tried to order tickets but my order got cancelled. QOL expect some kind of a special password from me for my Visa card verification... But I don't HAVE a password for the visa card i used!! It just doesn't have one! Phoned visa... sorted things out... but now I can not use my card anymore untill 4.30 tonight!! Bloody hell... I will be in nerves all freakin' day... |

ALL THIS IS A BLOODY JOKE now they have 3 differrent dates for Budapest 2 for Prague 2 for Madrid and a wrong one for Belgrade welcome to the World of Queen, where Chaos is all over the place and if you thought it cant gent any worse - just check the german-tour-ads on my page - a once professional band has gone kindergarten |
| Jeroen 02.04.2008 05:25 |
Jeeeses... this is a total fuck-up... I feel like smashing something on someone's head! (Yes, I've got someone in mind ;-) ...oh and those posters...? LOL!!! The font they used for that terrible 'Cuzmuz rocks' name!! That's just laughable! |
| andyhwood485 02.04.2008 05:30 |
I got my tickets for Liverpool via the Echo Arena Pre-Sale..... the seat tickets can be chosen, but are at the back of the Arena. I have opted for 2 standing tickets, but hope to get better seat tickets closer to the stage. My guess is that the Fan Club and Online Members will have a couple of blocks reserved closer to the stage... just a guess, but that is what The Stones do, hence you not being advised of your seat allocation on application. |
| TheGame 02.04.2008 05:37 |
Yeah, i was supposed to order through this special link we got. However, i think i'll pass until the regular sale is on. Its all just a mess and the postage cost and 10% fee is just ridiculous. |
| Mr. Scully 02.04.2008 05:56 |
wegotit wrote: and if you thought it cant gent any worse - just check the german-tour-ads on my page - a once professional band has gone kindergartenYes, the posters are just pathetic, especially the chosen font. Even I would do a better job. |
| john_john211 02.04.2008 06:00 |
It is a little if the booking fee is cheaper once they go on general sale but you will probably find its the same price if you did. Unless you were a personal caller. |
| Richard Lopata (new email) 02.04.2008 06:09 |
The Dutch queenfanclub charge 63,50 per ticket including service costs with an additional 6.75 for shipping. I thought that was a good deal However, if I would order my Ahoy and Antwerp tickets through QueenOnline, and use the current conversion from pounds to euro's (1.2657 euro's per pound) ... it's actually 61.80 per ticket, including shipping, service costs and the 10% fee that's odd isn't it? |
| andyhwood485 02.04.2008 06:15 |
Does the pre-sale site (which i have details for), require you to enter your email address and a password when you get to the checkout???? 1.00pm is approaching fast for QOL Members. |
| Richard Lopata (new email) 02.04.2008 06:27 |
What the .... argh! I just ordered Antwerp tickets through their system. I wanted to enter my creditcard details, and the page was expired. If I log in again, the website tells me that my order has been filed but they don't have my creditcard information, so that will never hold. However, there is no option to delete the order argh!!!! |
| Richard Lopata (new email) 02.04.2008 06:53 |
Got 'm ... woohoo! |
| Nightjar_ 02.04.2008 07:00 |
I got mine at 10am this morning and I'm NOT a member of the Fan club! I thought the pricing was a bit costly but at least I've secured the tickets, so see you all in Glasgow, Birmingham and Liverpool. |
| Cwazy little thing 02.04.2008 07:08 |
The poster above me makes a very fucking interesting point - Ive been waiting casually all morning for it to be 1pm, and then I noticed a friend of mines dad has got her a ticket despite them not being fanclub members - this business of it being fanclub only before 1pm was absolute nonesense! Its a free for all right now! Im pissed off, cos she's the sort who gets tickets to all sorts of bands despite having no real love for them because her dad always takes her - if Id missed out, and she had tickets, Id have been bloody livid! |

I'm pissed off as well! Have to wait until 1.00 pm to try again! It's a bloody shambles as standing are the same price as seating! Cardiff seat tickets are hard to get!! |
| andyhwood485 02.04.2008 07:13 |
I agree, i am waiting for the 1pm slot too... just checked and it says on the pre-sale site that the maximum fan club allocation has now been met..... i am still worried about being asked for a password.... i was sent the email by QOL, but have no idea what my password to QOL is! |
| Nightjar_ 02.04.2008 07:22 |
The Queen Fan Club online pre-sale ticket allocation has now been reached. As previously stated, tickets for Queen Online and the Paul Rodgers mailing lists will be available as of 1pm (BST). What were they playing at, as far as I could see there was NO fan club only time, I just signed in from QOL and got 3 tickets, crazy...... By the way I stopped the fan club years ago as Jacky kept making mistakes with my account aaahhhhhh!!! At least the music is good.... |
| Russian Headlong 02.04.2008 07:25 |
The fan club has a long history of fucking up with tickets. I am a long time lapsed member (I never renewed after Fred popped his clogs cos I figured no more tours). Back in 86' as a young teenage member of the FC, I ordered 4 tickets for the wembley saturday show. I was messed around for weeks, I would phone and no answer, then when I did get through I was told they had been sent by recorded delivery, checking with the post office they had not been sent. In the end my dad'd cousin who lived in Kensington had to go down to the then fan club and stand there until they 'materialised'. It was touch and go that we got the tickets, so bad that my cousin got me a ticket for the Knebworth show which had just gone on sale too because we thought we had ben ripped off from the fan club. As history turned out, I am so glad i did as it was the last ever gig with freddie. Btw, The fan club did get their shit together for the 90 xmas party at the Astoria which was brilliant with the Cross and BM. People knew then that Freddie had Aids. My brother and I crashed at a friends house and one of his other guests at the party was working for Robin moore ede who was an interior designer working on Garden Lodge and he said that Freddie looked awful, with all the signs of aids, i.e karposi sarcoma. |
| Cwazy little thing 02.04.2008 07:38 |
I feel sorry for those having to wait till 1pm - I must have JUST sneaked in with my order for standing tickets for Liverpool in time. Ah well - at least I can relax now. Im sure everyone will manage to get tickets - in my experience theres usually plenty of standing left come general sale, so I wouldnt panic. |
| hillerqueen 02.04.2008 07:49 |
I ordered tickets through QOL this morning like Nightjar. I half expected that something like this would happen and thought it unlikely the fan club would get exclusive access plus I didn't want to miss out on the tickets (Going to O2 Arena from Ireland). I could not remember my login password so just set up as a new user, site was only too happy to grab my mastercard details!....only hope the powers that be don't revoke tickets got in this way, although to be honest I can't see them returning money....they are probably already investing it in a high yeild investment!! See you soon in London guys (going home to iron my Tri-Colour) |
| Nightjar_ 02.04.2008 07:54 |
Hillerqueen, We done nothing wrong so don't worry. Also on the last tour I bought my tickets yet again at the 'fan club only time', but used my years out of date membership number and got the tickets |
| andyhwood485 02.04.2008 08:09 |
I now have 2 seated tickets for Liverpool via QOL and 2 standing tickets via the Arena. I am trusting that QOL will be true to thier word and that the seated tickets will be the ones nearest to the stage, otherwise i will have to use the standing tickets i have purchased via the Arena this morning (odd as it sounds). |

Completed the transaction at 1:08pm with what appeared to be no problems whatsoever, but I'm still yet to get a confirmation email AT ALL. Anyone else had this problem? |
| YourValentine 02.04.2008 08:57 |
Looking over at QOL - - the seats cannot be allocated before September - tickets won't be delivered until a week before the concert - orders are cancelled with no explanation unbelievable |
| goldie42 02.04.2008 08:59 |
Yes, I got a funny email saying 'your order will be filed'??? Does this mean its been accepted or 'in progress' who knows????? I also am not a member of the fan club - just of QOL but I got in before 12am. Didn't have to wait til 1pm! Seems a right mess. |
| Togg 02.04.2008 09:02 |
I booked via the fan club link this morning, got a confirmantion email straight away Surely the T&C's are pretty standard when dealing with a concert so far in advance I suspect most online vendors will have pretty much the same terms etc.. The fan club link was then kinked to QOL shop (i think) and then when I went back at around midday it said the fan club pre allocation was now full so I guess I got in just in time. |
| goldie42 02.04.2008 09:08 |
what did your confirmation email say?? was it clear that the order was successful? |
| hillerqueen 02.04.2008 09:24 |
I noticed too that the message "your order has been filed no. 123456 (etc)" and would have been happier to see it say that my oder had been filled!!! If you hit the help tab at the top of the page it leads you to a terms and conditions page which says once the money has been received your booking is secure (or words to that effect). As for not receiving your tickets until 10 days before the gig, I have seen that with ticketmast before, it seems a bit scary to wait that long to receive them into your hands but thats the way it goes. God forbid you move house in the meantime or had decided to go on a two week break before your concert! |
| We Are The Champions 02.04.2008 09:37 |
YourValentine wrote: Looking over at QOL - - the seats cannot be allocated before September - tickets won't be delivered until a week before the concert - orders are cancelled with no explanation unbelievableNothing surprises me any more about the tickets booking process!!!. Delivery of tickets a week before is quite normal - it's a shame you couldn't pick them up at the box office. Cant understand that orders are being cancelled - maybe over subscribed? Hope you haven't ended up with a nose bleed seat at the back. When I booked Bruce Springstten I knew where my seat was. This is set up for one reason only - to make as much money as possible without going too far. They know that fans will scramble quickly so as to not miss out so are taking advantage as well as giving priority to fans. From what I've seen on this forum it's a free for all anyway! If people are pissed off then they should vote with their feet and not attend gigs. This will not happen of course!! I'm taking a risk by going for general sale! You have the option of not paying a delivery fee. It's always nice to have the tickets in your hand but I have had no problems in the past at CIA box office. |
| christeb 02.04.2008 09:40 |
Got my tickets, 2 for London O2 Arena and 2 for Liverpool Echo Arena. What I do think, however, is the price of the tickets with booking and fees etc etc.. Ca. €50 on top of the tickets for this, also given the fact that the tickets themselves were supposed to be £39.50 (for standing, which is what I have) Can't wait for the gigs, but this sours it for me slightly |
| Jeroen 02.04.2008 09:47 |
5,5 hourse after my first attempt at buying stuff from QOL... Still NO tickets for me... *cancelled* *error on page* *need password* *6 tickets for Paris* *no, I only want 3!* *cancelled* *error on page* *need password* *error on page* *cancelled* *ctrl-alt-delete* |

I got tickets for Wembley very easily then. I ordered 6 I think and they were delivered on time! It was a much better system then - no lotteries and no on-line ordering. The Fan Club had pre booked tickets for fan club members only with membership numbers. No membership numbers - no tickets. Good if you were a member. Any surplus went on general sale!!. No touts fighting over a dead carcass!! They should adopt this sytem now so that only current members can take advantage of priority bookings. That's the whole point really. It's become a free for all where lapsed members with membership numbers can buy tickets! May sound selfish but it's every one for themselves. |

There are quite a few pissed off people on here! The prices are over inflated on pre-sales with extra charges for delivery and booking!! General sales with ticketmaster - risky but should be able to get standing at least if you log on at 9.00 am Saturday. |

The user interface for inputting your address was poor and I've had to e-mail them to check that my details are correct. I cannot believe just how much money I have spent on tickets and the album club. I'm away on my honeymoon at the moment too!!! |
| The Mop 02.04.2008 13:03 |
I was at work all morning waiting for lunch so to get home and book my tickets through QOL only to find a email from the Liverpool Echo Arena giving me the chance to pre-book tickets from 9 am this morning so jumped at the chance. Could have got lower level seats facing the stage block 7 but went for the standing me and my 3 kids are over the moon. Still think this makes a mockery of the QOL web site and the fan club but hope you all get your tickets. |
| BAD X 02.04.2008 13:20 |
I paid £3 for a stalls ticket at the Liverpool Empire in 1979 and I thought that was a rip off lol. |
| Fenderek 02.04.2008 13:51 |
Seating tickets the same price as standing tickets??? WTF??? 60 pounds for a place near the roof far away from the stage? Ridiculous... I actually may wait and take my chances and... Fuck it... everything seems rushed with this whole thing- Gdansk cancelled, Spain postponed, Verona moved,. now this sale... and different dates... what next? |
| Soul Brother 02.04.2008 14:21 |
No, not a joke - a piece of cake. Sounds like most of you had credit card problems. Got mine and delighted. The price, well yeah expensive but so was Rush last year! |
| Fenderek 02.04.2008 14:26 |
Thank God I discovered Porcupine Tree... I payed 30 pounds TOTAL for the best gig I have ever seen last December... I refuse to believe the seated tickets are sold at the same price as the standing ones... THat is truly ridiculous... and six pounds for UK delivery? Is Mr May going to drop them himself? Before I thought it's the ticketmaster that's evil... but hey- no ticketmaster, it's QOL... I've seen them 7 times last tour... somehow with all that I think it may be only 1, tops 2 this year... I'll wait till Friday and Al Murray show... If the song sucks there's no way I'm going anywhere else but Notts... I was thinking about London, Liverpool and Birmingham... maybe even Cardiff... But that's 24 pounds for DELIVERY only!!! Yes- it is now buy 4, pay for 5... Fuck that, I don't think I'm THAT excited anymore... Wake me up for box sets... |

1. I ordered my ticket on tuesday, and I've received this kind of confirmation e-mail that says 'my order has been filed'. I just want to know if I have to worry, or not. 2. Quite expensive though, but then again: even if it was twice this price, i still would purchase a ticket. I guess I'm the victim of my Queen-adoration. 3. None of my friends are big Queen fans, so I'm going all by myself to the concert (Antwerpen, 23 sept). Anyone else here who goes to see QPR in Antwerpen? Anyway, I'm looking forward to it. I saw them in Antwerpen three years ago with my former girlfriend (not a Queen fan, but she changed her mind after seeing the concert) and it was truly memorable. I just can't imagine what it would have been if Freddie would still be around. I was born in May 1986 so I never saw Queen perform. But this is the best we can get nowadays, so.. ^^ |
