People seem to have lost contact with reality. We dont even know the name of the new album, and still people whine like kids, and even judge the album! :) Anyway. Looks like people think everything was perfect when Freddie lived. Here is some awful titles with Freddie Mercury alive: -Mr Bad Guy -Delilah -The Game -Hot Space -Queen -Queen II -The Works -Jazz -Body Language -Fooling around ( imagine if this title was on the new Queen Paul Rodgers album....hehe) -She blows hot and cold -Cool Cat |

He didn't say Queen II sucked, he said the title sucked. Imagine that it's 1973. And the new Queen album would be titled Queen II and you heard one of the songs would be called Funny How Love Is.. come on... Would anyone really be excited? Or what about Hot Space and a song called Body Language. |
Another Roger (re) 30.03.2008 18:21 |
Ten points to FriedChicken. In fact Queen II is my favourite Queen album. I just find it annoying when some fans slag off the new album before we have heard the songs. We dont even know the title yet. It isnt confirmed is it? Anyways. I like a song called Volvo in Mexico as well. Shit title, but a damn fun song. |

How about half of Frank Zappa's song titles? If people judged him based on the titles of "Peaches en Regalia," "Why Does It Hurt When I Pee?" and "G-Spot Tornado," he probably wouldn't have gotten too far. Instead, he's generally regarded as one of the greatest composers of the last century. So, back to Queen... who cares about song names? What counts is the music itself. |

- I remember sitting on my computer in 1995, searching the web after Queen related sites. It was great to find pages that wrote about my favourite band. The page I remember the most was link, ran by a guy called "Gazebow", who by the way had met Freddie in 1984, at the Heaven nightclub.. Whenever there was some news around concerning Queen, we discussed it at the MIRC channel called "Queen". I remember when they posted interviews with Roger and Brian in Real Audio format discussing their solo stuff et.ct. It was exciting, but still many of us hoped for some Queen stuff. My memories are a little vague, but I remember the anticipation which the Made in Heaven album, "No One But You" song, and the The Show Must Go On, with Elton arroused... And later when they (Brian and Roger) in 1999 performed with the Foo Fighters (Brixton Academy), and Brian joined Roger at his solo tour (Electric Fire) in Wolverhampton, we fans started to realize that something was happening with Queen. Even Roger commented the same year that a Queen tour was a possibility in forthcoming 3-4 years.. During these years there has been a LOT of speculation about who's to sing... Robbie Williams, Jeff Scott Soto, Chris Thompson, Jan Werner Danielsen, Tony Vincent and so on... But we have never got any kind of realization with these names. And, suddenly Paul Rodgers comes along, and they notice that there's some kind of chemistry which they build on an tour... And now we are faced with a new album... --> Seldom have I heard so much noise and complaints about a forthcoming album and tour. It seems that everyone has to complain about something... The song titles are crap, the drums have the wrong colour, the art work is crap, Roger is fat, They wont come "my" country, to appear on Al Murray is a disastrous move, the Queen Online Web page is from hell.... Without romanticizing too much, I would like to say that based on the last 10-15 years of being a Queen fan, I really look forward to listen to this album and attend some concerts... I guess many of us have waited on a NEW album?? And back to the title: "Everything wasnt perfect when Freddie lived either..." - I agree. |

Thomas Tønnesen wrote: And later when they (Brian and Roger) in 1999 performed with the Foo Fighters (Brixton Academy), and Brian joined Roger at his solo tour (Electric Fire) in Wolverhampton, we fans started to realize that something was happening with Queen.Ahh yes. Fun times :D I was just starting then, 1999 I believe, to somehow getting involved with the Queen online community, and I was SO excited when I heard in early 2000 that Queen were going to be performing, AS Queen, at the Brit Awards 2000 (along with 5ive, but who cared about THOSE guys??? xD ). Of course, I was disappointed then that John didn't take part, and it was only time before we found out he really retired and didn't want to be involved with them musically anymore. During these years there has been a LOT of speculation about who's to sing... Robbie Williams, Jeff Scott Soto, Chris Thompson, Jan Werner Danielsen, Tony Vincent and so on... I guess many of us have waited on a NEW album??I hear you, brother! I waited OVER TEN FUCKING YEARS since I became a Queen fan to see a NEW album, NOT a rehash compilation or previously unreleased live material (I count Return of the Champions among them, despite being recorded in 2005 :P ), NOT a new solo album from either Roger or Brian, but a NEW full product with all-new original material (bar the one cover track they mentioned :P ) under the Queen label :D I've made my opinions on this matter very clear over the years, and I stick by my views. |

Yes agree so much with Thomas Tonnessen. I feel so lucky to become a fan, and to get on a time when they're touring!!!! Wow, I think I'm really lucky. This is their second tour as Queen-after-Freddie!!! Yes I agree with those who say the title actually doesn't matter. When I first saw Radio Ga Ga i broke up laughting, but the song is great, isn't it? And many more. Also don't get the point about Elton being aroused by Show Must Go On?.. Why would he?.. |

The following sentence has led to some misunderstandings, which I have to clear up, before the rumours start to flood both Queen and Elton forums... hehe: "My memories are a little vague, but I remember the anticipation which the Made in Heaven album, "No One But You" song, and the The Show Must Go On, with Elton arroused..." - This is a bad sentence stucture :) I didnt mean that Elton got aroused during the perfomance. Maybe he did, I dunno... guess not... For you who don't get it... I mean that we fans got aroused by the fact that things were happening in an otherwise, quite dead Queen camp.... Aroused is perhaps a bad word in this context... anyway... |

The ghost of Freddie Mercury is hiding under your bed He's gonna wrap his fingers around your throat and strangle you to death Are you ready HEY Are you ready to die? --------- Sing that over the first few lines of Another One Bites the Dust, it's uncanny. |
