After all this Q+PR stuff dies out, do you think Brian could pull off what Santana did...recording a whole album of new material with guest artists? There are a lot of big name singers out there who I think would love to contribute vocals to a track on the album (Axl Rose, Gary Cherone, Dave Grohl, Brandon Flowers, Joe Elliot, Justin Hawkins, Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance, Ben Folds, Billy Joe Armstrong, Trent Reznor, Billy Korgan to name a few).
Do you think the album would be a success?
Listen to those Santana albums very carefully. He's just doodling. Whenever the vocals drop out, there's Carlos... fooling around again.
Don't get me wrong. Beyond Appearances is one of my all time favorite albums. I've been on board from Abraxas to Milagro, but those new albums are really annoying. I'm not fooled.
So could Brian just stop creating complex solos and start playing little blurbs in between EVERY vocal?
God, I hope not.
pretty sure I would get it, except for a couple songs those santana albums are pretty damn enjoyable.
in fact now that i think about it more, I would LOVE for Brian do do somthing like this
I would love more a conceptual album based in his love about astronomy...
Some time ago a fan ask this to him in a letter and he said that maybe someday he will do it.
;)
P.
Great Question.
I think Brian could go further than Santana. Not suggesting anything of a dis-credit to Santana, but Brian has shown through out time in Queens catologue, he can play many styles. This Im sure would allow him to play with a diverse range of artists as apose to Santanas commercials hits that seem to be about heart break.
So, yeah, I think if it was produced right, Brian would be good.....
It would be better if Roger played drums... but lets not get in to this Q + business.
I think Brian could do something, but I think Brian's approach to doing something like that would be more diverse, and he'd push the envelope a bit further.

Absolutely. I would hope that Brian would aspire to more than playing the same riffs in between the vocal lines like Carlos did.
sorry. i just read the title to this thread and wondered if someone had heard something about Brian's "new" sexual prediliction for w*nking off latin men?

I mean he's a great guitarist..
but Satana is FAMOUS for his style and sound
I think Brian is only recognized for his sound.
