I want to show a friend of mine just how good Brian is. I know there are tons of songs with great guitar, but which one's are the real greats, the one's that would qualify for the best guitar of all time (again I know there is tons of Brians stuff to choose from). I would really like help to pick two or three.
Thanks
Killer Queen, Good Company, and The Millionaire Waltz. All are very different examples of his orchestration techniques. Personally, I think the outtro of Good Company is his greatest achievement.

Yes, that outtro of good company is indeed unique. Many fellow guitarfreaks will agree with you:-) But many other people think this is the weakest song of Opera, they just don't get it. The genius of that song, how he creates a whole band with just his guitar, they just don't hear it(and therefor do not acknowledge Brian). The more I listen to Queen shows(live shows) the more I am impressed by Brian's playing.
Killer Queen is for me one of those songs that I is absolutely perfect. The solo is also perfect and so very clever with truly a unique sound(great amp:-)

Put out the fire - those D chords are hard.
Seriously i would say fat bottomed girls if you could hear the guitar underneath rocks with attitude...there's a guy on licklibrary.com where he covers their songs and my playing has improved...probably the coolest song

Keep Yourself Alive
Death on Two Legs
Great King Rat
Bijou
You Don't Fool Me
All Dead, All Dead
And all the songs already mentioned, in my personal opinion.
I don't know, though. I'm not a guitar virtuoso; I'm just thinking of songs that I think sound pretty good and pretty complex.
it all depends on what kind of music taste your friend has.
it's nearly pointless to make him listen to the killer queen solo if he's a speed metal fan ;)
in this case give him "cyborg" from the "another world" cd
fortunately Brian is a complete guitarist, with high technique in many guitar styles

But if someone isn't open to listening to new musical styles, is their opinion really that worthwhile in the first place?
hi Sir GH!I think he might be very open, yet he could have favourite genres...
so i would feed him in first place with Under Pressure ehehe since he likes Bowie!!
then you should get from the Menheim 86 bootleg "immigrant song"
and put in the compilaiton also stuff from the 70s
a night at the opera, a day at the races, queen 2, queen, Sheer heart attack...
what do you think?
i thik if he has a weak for hard rock he will fall in love with Brian's riffs ;)
and The Hitman as bonus track ;)
