You want it, you got it - here is the Dortmunch show LR Tiger just shared, but this time in FLAC. I got it from the Hub and unfortunately no lineage was supplied. Quality - VG- (I didn't download the mp3 but I rather agree with Tiger's quality rating) Tracklist ; Disc 1: 01. We Will Rock You slow 02. We Will Rock You fast 03. Brighton Rock 04. Somebody To Love 05. Death On Two Legs 06. Killer Queen 07. Good-Old Fashioned Lover Boy 08. I'm In Love With My Car 09. Get Down Make Love 21. 10. The Millionaire Waltz 11. 3:16 You're My Best Friend 12. 5:20 Spread Your Wings Disc 2 1. It's Late 2. Now I'm Here 3. Love Of My Life 4. '39 5. My Melancholy Blues 6. White Man (cut) 7. Stone Cold Crazy 8. Bohemian Rhapsody 9. Keep Yourself Alive 10. Tie Your Mother Down 11. 3:22 We Are The Champions Artwork is included. Size 359 MB - not much for FLAC, admittedly, but I checked it with TAU and TLH and it looks okay. Good download and enjoy! |

I already have this one but thanks anyway. What do people think about the spectrum of this show? It looks definitely strange. I think it was probably remastered but it could be mp3-sourced too. Something was definitely done on this recording. link link |

Great share, thanks. I personally don't think it's mp3 sourced, but it was definitely "digitally manipulated". |

This was my first Queen concert, in fact my first rock concert! Actually I had made a recording of the concert myself, but it turned out so bad it's unlistenable ... so I hope this will bring back some sweet memories (haven't listened yet) - Many thanks!! Mike |

MikeDid you record the complete show? If so, then regardless of its quality, it would have some value because the recording shared here is incomplete. Any recording is better than none. |

To Sir GH: No, I didn't record the whole show as it wouldn't fit on a C-90 Cassette - the funny thing is I also stopped the tape during White Man/Prophet's song because I found that a bit boring at the time (remember, it was my first Queen show, and I was very young!) I don't even know where that tape is - must be somewhere, I'll try and find it! As a matter of fact, I am now living very close to the Westfalenhalle (a 20 minute walk) where I had the pleasure to witness Queen a further three times (79,82,84) as well as The Cross (88) and Q+PR. Unfortunately, I didn't record any of the other shows! Mike |

I am not quite certain (it's been 30 years!) but I might have given the tape to one or two people so that's not totally impossible ... Mike |
The Real Wizard 20.03.2008 15:26 |
Sounds like it's your recording. Chances are it's better quality than the one we've got here, so it's definitely not "unlistenable" ! Please let us know if you track down your tape. It's great to know the master tape is out there. :) |
Mike Label 20.03.2008 15:41 |
If I find it and the quality's better (which I doubt) than what has been up here I'll share it of course. Mike |

I think it was probably remastered but it could be mp3-sourced too. Something was definitely done on this recording. link linkI'd like to quote Loser in the End from the Tokyo 24/4/79 thread "...I think the show was recorded on an audiocassette (it's basicly how it sounds), therefore it only recorded the spectrum between 30HZ and 16KHz... Probably this recording transfered a couple of times to other cassettes before running through a (simple) A/D converter and became digital. This wisdom comes because I worked for a audiocassette factory at the mastering department, 15 years ago...I picked up a few things. My verdict: It's lossless in the way that it hasn't been altered by mp3 compression... But it's lossy in the way that much was lost from the original mastertape...and lossy because it could have been A/D'ed more properly...". Remastering of some sort is also a distinct possibility but I personally don't think it is mp3 sourced. Could be wrong, though... |

Years of copying from cassette to cassette will take its toll on a recording. Nothing can top the master tape. |
