A few?? France has only 1 and a big country like Germany has also 5. The whole of Scandinavia hasn't even 1. Big Boohoo!! |

Exactly - plus, they're not that big a draw... |

It's bloody six- that's FEW? I'm happy- probably won't be bothered with Glasgow, too far... but the rest- definitely...! |

Tsss!! They're doing the 02... which I'm pretty sure will NOT sell out now that there are SO MANY more UK dates. |
YourValentine 20.03.2008 05:22 |
Brian said in a recent interview that 10% of all their records have been sold in Germany - that's why there are so many concerts here. Maybe the German promoters make better offers, too. I don't think the band deliberately shuns a country - you need a promoter who wants this tour badly enough to make a good offer. |

We're lucky in the UK to have 6 gigs!! That's more than any other country! Also there's Hyde Park as well! |

well, I was hoping to get at least ONE date somewhere in the whole of scandinavia (not to mention the ONLY time they've bothered with finland was in 1974), but since they apparently didn't sell so well in stockholm the last time around, they thought why bother with any of the scandinavian countries then. had they only known how many finns traveled to stockholm (and other cities) on the last tour.. Queen is the biggest record selling foreign artist in finland, and if bloody celine dion sold out a 13.000 seat venue when the tickets cost up to 200euros, then Queen would easily do the same (and their tickets wouldn't cost more than 80e here, I'm sure). Kiss sold out two nights in 3 and 6 minutes here the other week (venue around 10.000 seats), and they've been here many times before. Queen would EASILY sell out one evening. but there isn't enough interest on either part, the band or promoters. sadly. so we have to drag ourselves to poor old UK, who only got 6 gigs this tour, to even get the small chance to see our champions live on stage. and yes, I knew this to be reality way before they released the tour dates, I've always known it. that's why I've been saving up for the past half year already to be able to travel to the uk gigs. note! I'm not pointing any fingers to any direction with this post, just wanted to point out how everything is quite relative. to some, one gig is more than they could ever in their life hope for, and to others 6 gigs within one week is way too little. |

QUEEN is the best selling foreign group in Finland. QUEEN could sell out any arena in Finland. "Queen + Paul Rodgers" on the other hand is a tribute act like the one that recently played(?) in Helsinki, and as such would merely be an unnecessary repetition. |

Tero wrote: "Queen + Paul Rodgers" on the other hand is a tribute act like the one that recently played(?) in Helsinkithat is a matter of opinion (yours), not a fact. the one that played helsinki last november was dead bad, "musical stars" who couldn't even keep in tune (from what I heard from the advertisements on radio, couldn't be arsed to pay one euro to see/hear 2 hours of that live). Queen + Paul Rodgers is still 50% of the original Queen, not to mention Paul is quite well liked too. and need I point out again? celine dion sold out with the price being up to 200 euros per ticket. if finns (13.000 of them) are crazy enough to pay that much money to see her, they would be "crazy enough" to buy a ticket and see the thing that is Q+PR. and the new tour won't be just repeptition of old Queen songs, as I'm sure you know, they will be performing stuff from the new upcoming album as well. and Paul's older solo stuff too, as on the last tour, I'd imagine. |

A major international artist on her/his/its first Finnish appearance can sell out a performance because people are jumping in on the chance to see the rare first performance in Finland. Queen (as you said yourself) is at best half of the band. More specifically, the half without public appeal, and its most recognisable part... Therefore, in the eyes of the general public, it can't have its first Finnish performance anymore. |

Hope the tour sells out but agree that this time they may be more appealing as it was a "lets try a new singer" tour in 2005. Different set list and new album tracks. Band more familiar with each other and tighter through more time together. Maybe more Paul influence this time Rock on 14/10/08 in Cardiff!! See you there! |

its probably because of the amount of countries they are trying to fit in, i think they will come bak after the 2nd leg... because they will probabbly go to america an canada. im hoping they will come back anyway hahah, i think they will go to the O2 arena again or play wembely! |

There were lots of 'logistic problems' this time. Meaning they apparently had many troubles finding venues in the time they intended to go out. That's why an Irish date did not happen at all (The Point for instance is being rebuilt at that time) and it almost meant there would not have been a Dutch date. (But they luckily found a way afterall ;-) Maybe that's why there are no more English dates. (But then again: I still feel what they booked now is as good as it will get for them.) |
