I just listened to this show(again, after a very long time) and now it's one of my favourite Queen shows. The band sound so energetic during this show. The audience goes crazy and freddie has them eating out of the palm of his hand. Freddie even makes a comment about that(he talks about how he feels when he has a crazy audience in front of him, you can hear the excitement in his voice very well!!) Freddie's comments thoughout the show are great aswell(funny intro to FBG). His voice is in incredible shape too, he sounds so passionate and creative(singing fucking power instead of staying power for example). Also somebody to love is a highlight for me, freddie pushing his voice to its limits. Especialy the line: can! you!!find meeeeeeeeeee:-)
Brian's playing is really agressive too and I like that very much. Listen to back chat and you'll know what I mean, sheer power. I think this is Queen at its most powerful. The whole band on fire(even more so than the officially released on fire show:-)and with an audience that can truly appreciate it.
Any thoughts on this show from other Queen-fans?
God, what memories of this concert I have. Not only was it the first time I saw Queen, it was my first rock concert too. I was only 12 but went with my big brother and some of his friends. I was totally awestruck (consequently, virtually every concert I've been to since has not touched the same spot) I was totally blown away. I was about 5/6 rows from the front towards Brians' side of the stage. I lost my voice within about 15 mins! Everytime Brian or Freddie came near our side of the stage I was nearly crushed. The crowd went totally wild! I remember one of the opening bands getting pelted with all sorts of stuff too. I remember reading somewhere that this was one of Brian's favourite concerts. At the time, he was saying stuff like it was like coming home playing in Leeds because it was where his wife (Chrisse) was from. I've still got local press cuttings and stuff from the time as I originally come from not that far from Leeds.

Thanks for sharing your memories with us!!
Could you scan the press cuttings and send these to queencuttings? It would be a great addition I'm sure. And I'd like to read it:-)
I too atended this gig & yes Queen did Rock, I was 15 years old at the time. Lots of memories, "Teardrops Explodes" got bottled by the crowd, but "Joan Jett" & "Heart" went down well.
