I am currently trying to re-edit the Rotterdam footage to have the correct track order and synchronise it with the audience audio recording.
I am using the video from the bootleg DVD "Rare Live 2" which has the best quality video of this concert that I ever seen (but it still sucks).
The first thing that I realised was that this video was terribly hard-telecined, and for some unknown reason it is also flipped (Brian is mostly seen on the LEFT side and Freddie on the RIGHT).
What I did was I IVTC'd it and restored its original 24fps speed, I have also flipped it correctly, so now Freddie and his piano are on the left side, and Brian is usually on the right side.
It still needs some stabilization (btw does anybody know a good software for it, in the best case an AviSynth filter ?), and a correct re-editing, so I can start with the video-audio synchronisation. The problem is that somebody "played" with it, so it's a complete mess.
Does anybody know what songs are on the video ? (The Rare Live 2 version, I don't know if other versions have the same edits)
I have recognized these songs -
We Will Rock You (fast)
Let Me Entertain You
Somebody To Love
It's Late
Dreamer's Ball
Keep Yourself Alive
Bohemian Rhapsody
Tie Your Mother Down
Sheer Heart Attack ?
probably 3 songs
Death On Two Legs
Speech or intro to some song
Death On Two Legs intro
probably 8 songs
Brighton Rock ending ???
Is here anybody who could provide me with some more information ?
Thanks
Good job so far! Here is what I picked out:
We Will Rock You (fast), Let Me Entertain You, Somebody To Love, It's Late (about 2 minutes!), Dreamers Ball, Keep Yourself Alive (including the Fun It part), Bohemian Rhapsody, Tie Your Mother Down, If You Can't Beat Them, Death On Two Legs, Killer Queen, Bicycle Race, You're My Best Friend, Spread Your Wings, Don't Stop Me Now, Brighton Rock
Ideally you could shift around some songs to have them all in the right running order..? Indeed, this is a result of someone playing around with it. What kind of "stabilization" does it need? Are you saying there are speed issues throughout?
This is a huge undertaking... good luck!
Thanks for the answer Bob !
Do you know for example what is this ? link
(it's the raw untouched part of the clip). Originally I thought it's Somebody To Love but unfortunatelly Roger drums too fast for it.
Speed issues - either my audio is too slow, or the video is too fast, I managed to synchronise the WWRY fast bit, the beginning is OK, the end is slightly out of sync.
Stabilization - the video is extremely shaky. I don't know if you controlled it frame-by-frame, I did and I didn't find 2 following frames which would have the camera in the exactly same position ! Which would mean that the camera man moved his hand every 1/24 second. Unless he had some mental disease, it's definitely a bad conversion.
Yes, I plan to re-edit the video to have the songs in the correct order, like I did to Tokyo
It was hard to see, but it's "If You Can't Beat Them".
Because of the rythm Roger is playing from 32sec.
And then kind of rewind it and everything fits with that song.
So I've put the song under the footage, so you can see what it mean. :) link
The first part isn't really in sync, the second part is better.
Didn't adjust any speed, but I think it's obvious enough. :)
More videos that need to be identified? ;)
Daniel, fantastic work ! If you have free time and are willing to help me identifying, could you send me an e-mail ? I have a couple more parts I'm not sure about :)
Great work on this, pittrek et al. I look forward to seeing the finished product. Is there any chance of improving the video quality? I know very little about "remastering", etc.

Hi, the finished product will be shared, but the video quality will not be drastically improved
