| The Fairy King 06.03.2008 05:07 |
He's been given up by the doctors. He has approximately 5 weeks to live. |
| Raststätte-Knödel 06.03.2008 05:08 |

| Roger Meadows Tailor 06.03.2008 06:01 |
Yea they said he doesnt stand a ghost of a chance. |

very sad news, hope he pulls through.. on a brighter sillier note though,Whoopi Goldberg is shitting herself in fear and Demi Moore is getting the Kiln ready just in case.. |
| AspiringPhilosophe 06.03.2008 07:57 |
Have to back up Mr. Mercury here...his agents have said that reports that he's on deaths door are not true. Apparently they caught it early and he's responding to treatment very well. That being said though, pancreatic cancer is one of the most deadly and most rapidly spreading of cancers. I hope he pulls through ok. |
| john bodega 06.03.2008 09:06 |
"His agents say it's an exaggeration". Hmm... anyone remember this though? "I hope you will join me in the fight against this terrible disease". I say they're bluffing. Swayze is doomed. |
| Mr.Jingles 06.03.2008 09:34 |
Why are the doctors talking to TMZ? They are vultures just waiting eagerly for Patrick Swayze to drop dead. |
| pittrek 06.03.2008 10:57 |
Fuck. Cancer. Poor guy, and poor family |
| john bodega 06.03.2008 11:03 |
I hate to say this but after Roadhouse he had it coming. |
| Killer Queenie 06.03.2008 12:29 |
link Doctors are optimistic about his chances. I sure as hell hope so!!! |
| Raststätte-Knödel 06.03.2008 12:43 |

He's going to die. |
| Matias Merçeauroix 06.03.2008 15:51 |
He's fucked. |
| Deacon Fan 06.03.2008 16:01 |
I never could stand the guy because he's so fucking ugly. But I have to admit he was awesome in 'Donnie Darko'. Hope somehow he pulls through. |
| Cwazy little thing 06.03.2008 20:43 |
Come on folks - the negative and nasty comments are unnecessary and a bit sad when youre talking about a human being who, in the grand scheme of things, has never done anyone any harm. I hope he stays strong and pulls through. :) |
| Freya is quietly judging you. 07.03.2008 05:58 |
Me too, but he's going to die. |
| Leaky Luke 07.03.2008 08:06 |
Another one bites the dust. |

I'm just being realistic. Not many people survive pancreatic cancer, it's particularly aggressive. He is probably going to die. |

My great grandmother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She died 3 months later. I'm not sure how early it was caught though. I really do hope he is able to pull through and that they did catch it early enough. It will take a miracle I'm afraid. |
| john bodega 07.03.2008 13:17 |
He's on his last legs. Has anyone ever understood that expression? |

Yeah, I don't understand it too...it's just terrible when someone gets cancer, and you shouldn't make fun of it. |

<b><font color=007788> ?Freya? wrote:I kinda agree with Freya here. Yeah, while the doctors are optimistic and there is hope, what if it all backfires? What if it doesn't work? I think Patrick Swayze is a relly good actor - I liked him in Dirty Dancing and in Ghost, but, and I know it is a sad thing to say, the odds are stacked against him. He's getting on a bit - he may be in his 50s and his body might not be able to come with the treatment AND his work schedule. I do hope he does pull through. It would be a shame to loose someone like him with film credits such as his. But sometimes, you need to be realistic.poodleface wrote:I don't have a dad. I'm just being realistic. Something *I* will never understand is bleeding hearted folk. You miss the very simple fact that death comes to us all. I can laugh my arse off at death because I know that eventually, the joke will be on me. Honestly... my grandmother was taken off by pulmonary embolism, my grandfather by a massive heart attack, my uncle rolled his truck because the sun got in his eyes, my cousin fell asleep at the wheel and drove into a tree, the list goes on and on and on..... we're all going to meet a rather undignified end someday. Why I can't have a chuckle at my own expense is totally beyond me. Nothing is going to stop me taking the piss out of death. It's the law of nature. I make fun of dead people for my lifetime, and then I die. Payback. Some people see it as a lack of respect for the dead but I think that's bullshit. First of all, we could stand to respect people a bit more when they're alive, as opposed to this fucked up philosophy of making dead people 'sacred'. Why should they be above criticism? Second of all, some people (like myself) merely find it a hard concept to deal with sometimes, and it's easier to make a joke out of it. Doesn't mean I don't respect dead folk. It just means I have a different way of digesting what is a bit of a tricky area. For me. Haw-haw. |

As a person who lost 6 members of his family to cancer (last time my father) I feel very bad about people who can make fun from tragic events. The fact that this person deserves a thread while he is just as talented in his job as many others are in their jobs that die every day, beats the hell out of me. So by saying he is just another one biting the dust, is that he is just among so many people that will or have died lately. We all die some day, weither it's because of a desease, becoming old or scientifical mistakes. But just because a person is/was shown on television by doing movies/music/television shows, doesn't make them better than any other person. |
