I met all of them in 1982 at Crazy Eddie's record store in Manhattan during an in-store visit before they were due to play that night. I got all of their autographs. I asked Brian if he could build me a guitar. He said someday! |

I played guitar with Brian in Frankfurt 1998... :) He gave a guitar workshop then to promote 'Another World', and I was one the five lucky participants. One of my dearest memories indeed. Then I met him again twice, briefly, backstage in Offenbach '98 and at Freddie's 60th at the Dominion in London. |

I met Brian as he was signing autographs after the 1st USA show of the '06 tour in Miami. He came out of the limo, signed some autographs, didn't say a word, got back in and they drove off. There were only about 15 of us around as it was about 2 hrs after the show. He signed about 5 autograps. 2 people I've always wanted to meet are Clint Eastwood and Brian May. They just seem like very cool and down to earth people for as popular as they are. Well I met Brian and was disappointed. I said, "Glad to have you back in the states." and he didn't even look up. I'm sure he was wiped out after the long show and it was very late at night. But, that doesn't mean that I still can't be dissapointed. I've never met him before and will never meet him again that's all. |

Yes - met Roger twice, once at Happiness? CD signing in London, and once at The Cross Mad:Bad... signing in London too. Both times he chatted very amicable for as long as was possible with loads of people waiting in line!! |

We where waiting at the gates after the Frankfurt gig (in total 5 persons). Suddenly we saw a silver mercedes driving our way (instead of turning left to enter the road, like all the mercedes cars did) We thought, "well now someone is going to say we have to leave or something" But what happens? Paul Rodgers steps out of the car chatting with us for about 5 minutes about the show and things like that. Following, his wife asks us if their is anything we would like to get autographed by Paul. "I'll make sure he signs it all" she said. After about 10 minutes we left the Frankfurt gates with all our stuff (tickets, programs, Bad Company records etc) signed. Amazingly friendly people! |

At WWRY I was standing by a door waiting to give my ticket for my seat. The door opened and out walked Brian, well I was so shocked that I gasped really loud and everyone in the foyer looked at me, including him!! So at least I managed to gain his attention somehow XD My cousin called out "How you doing Brian, my son?" Then Brian kind of grunted and put his thumb up as he walked past. *Ah memories* XD |

Basterds! ;) I was waiting at the back enterance of the Ahoy in 2003 (i think) and another fan was waiting at a door where he had given some singles to sign to a security dude.. after a wef minutes he came back with them.. signed and shiny. That is as close as I ever got. Crappy part is that I didnt have anything with me to sign aside from my ticket, and I wasnt inside yet. :( |

Never met Freddie, but my consolation is that I have had some very deep and meaningful chats with people who probably knew him better than his band mates did. The guy seriously deserves every last ounce of the legendary status he's achieved. He burnt the candle at both ends, and in the middle too. A creative genius in every sense of the word. I'm an envious glowing shade of red, for all those who ever had the privilige of conversing with him. Never met the quiet one who according to Mack "goes on holidays to Bali". Maybe one day, who knows. Feel very priviliged that I have met the "remaining band members" and "associates" quite a few times now. |

I first met Roger when he was looking for the backstage entrance to the Astoria in 1990, met him a few times since then, mainly at Cross gigs, most people asked him everytime how Freddie was, to which he always replied that he was well. Met both of them after they appeared with the Foos at Brixton, I think I was the only member of the crowd hanging around afterwards that recognised Roger, so I got to chat to him a bit. Brian was mobbed (as was Dave Grohl) so barely said "hello". |

I've written to Brian via e-mail and gotten a few replies. As for meeting any of the Queen members in-person, not really. I've been lucky to be about 6-10 feet away from the vehicle that brought Brian into the PNE Coliseum in Vancouver, before the Q+PR concert there in April 2006. (He was sitting in the front seat, with an unobscured view :D - the others were in the back seats of the other cars with heavily tinted windows, so I had no idea which one had who :( ) Otherwise, I was lucky to get an autograph from Paul Rodgers at that show, through his tour manager who came out and asked us (that were waiting at the loading dock area) if any of us were looking to get Paul's autographs. :) (He autographed my copy of ROTC (CD), which itself had a printing error with the booklet!) |

Met Fred,Deacy and the other two when they came to a charity cricket match at Godstone (Surrey) in '78!!! Spent the afternoon amidst them. Was only 12 but a massive Queen fan. Fred gave me 50pence so we could get an ice-cream!!! got autographs etc etc.... |

I've not met any of the band, but I did meet and jam with Tim Staffel a few years ago. He was visiting my Dad's cousin (Pete Hammerton of The Others) while they were working on what eventually became the aMIGO album. Spent the afternoon chatting with them and Rob Tolchard about their time at Hampton Grammar together and Tim's memories of Smile and early Queen. A lovely chap. |

Yes. Back in 1977 (I had just turned 16 and was with my sister and two friends). And then in 1978, just Roger (I was with my younger brother who was age 12 at the time - funny ... Roger didn't offer him any ice cream money - but it was late at night). |

Well... yes. 1978... I met Brian outside the Empire Pool, Wembley. He was very friendly and signed my autograph book (yeah, we had such a thing in the 70's) 1979... I met Brian and Roger outside the Pavillion de Paris. Brian said... "I can't believe this" speaking about the 60 or so that had travellrd to Paris for the 3 Jazz gigs. 1979... I met Brian and John at the Atlantic Towers hotel in Liverpool on the Crazy Tour. I went to Roger's hotel room.. but that story is elswhere (maybe on Queen Online... not sure,, but it's too long to go into now). And of course Fred, who didn't speak to me but signed the autograph book and gave me a toothy grin. All on photos, |

I met Brian at the Cozy Powell Tribute Concert in 1999. We had a nice quiet conversation as we walked from the stage door to the main entrance, right past the pub on the opposite side of the road that was full of Queen fans who didn't even notice. A video of Brian's performance was shot by the Father of Black Sabbaths (then) lead singer. He took my business card and promised to send me a copy. He never did :( |

Met Brian in an arcade in Camberley in early 1990,chatted briefly about the Miracle album and mentioned Freddie and touring and how great the magic tour was.I think he knew that something was wrong then, nothing else mentioned. Was eating a large packet of crisps and giving his kids small bagfulls of money...Genuine fab bloke,it is amazing how few people seemed to recognise him! My friend fitted Roger's sky tv about the same time in his surrey home.Saw Bri again buying some glue(?)in camberley again, trying to pay by credit card(99p).When he came out the shop, the friendly traffic warden had slapped a ticket on his Mercedes 300TE estate.... |
freddie2411 31.03.2008 17:39 |
That never happened in the UK! One rare case of Queen bowing to record company pressure.I think I have seen photo's of that,I remember Freddie looking very glum about it all,was he just fed up with th U.S reaction? |

i "met" Brian at a booksigning in Hollyweird california. BANG!: THE COMPLETE HISTORY etc... accidentally walked into the room to begin with (it hadn't started) shoulda brought a coffee or something and tried to blend in hahaha. instead got my book n waited... the event leaflet said MEET BRAIN MAY ...yes BRAIN... still it was cool. i brought my FURIA cd and Star Fleet...but he wasn't signing the stuff. it's a pity cause in 01 or 00 i met Nuno bettencourt during a QUEEN Hollywood walk of fame induction: none of the people around seemed to notice they were in the presence of a rock and roll god. I got him to sign a dollar bill (it was all i had on me) and he laughed about that. It was for a small event titled "QUEEN: WRITTEN IN THE STARS" waved bye to Steve vai there as well...(yeah like that's something haha) Bri and Rog accepted on behalf of the band. later that night they jammed...but to this day i regret i couldn't attend (i was not yet 21...two fucking weeks shy of it).... i hear they screened Greatest Flix on DVD and had a jam.....it's a pity cause the place was small....for such an epic sort... Club Ivar i think. damn. that's my story... my profile photo's a pic of Brian at the signing with me. I actually doodled him a drawing (never scanned it) for the occasion...spent the night doing it cause i had got late word of the event so i took the day off work..... these are the guys that shaped so much. love em. so that's my story. Brian took a look (and his goons tried to put my arm away when i pulled out the drawing haha....goons..) and then he said "you're quite a talented young boy" or something like that.. and we took a snap shot... someday i hope to see that drawin again...it was actually pretty good. One of the fam or entourage said "and you call THAT a doodle??!" so apparently it wasn't just me. maybe i'll hit up the soapbox for that. haha The guys are personal heroes of mine so....there ya go. Wish i could have shared a brew with em, played pool or GREATER YET JAMMED WITH THE GUYS (like those mostly talentless people on american and [barf] CANADIAN idol..... but that's MY story. I hear the red special has magical powers of rockability. it controls all other axes and cannot be destroyed.... but these are just rumors... i'm no celebrity but the pic is here on a link i guess |

Met Brian, Roger, Freddie's mum, dad and his sister at the opening night of the Freddie Mercury Photographic Exhibition at the Albert Hall in London. A friend of my uncle, Paul Humberstone had a fair few photos displayed that he had taken whilst in college with Freddie in the late 60's early 70's. Also met Dave Clarke, Jim Beach and the fan club people. Weirdly, spend about 10 minutes with Brians daughter trying to find Brian whilst he had been whisked away to do an interview. I was still in school at the the time and remember having to leave early to get the last train all the way back up to North Wales..... Will remember it for a long time although seems like a dream now! Got the Let Me Live CD signed by the majority of the people there....... and remember talking some bollocks to Roger and complementing him on the Happiness album! |

I haven't met them myself, but a few people I know have. A friend of mine once sold Roger a TV from Comet (or maybe it was Dixons?) in Truro. He was really friendly, and was actually buying it for one of his family. Only got his autograph on the receipt though;-) My physics tutor from Exeter also studied for his Phd with Brian. He had some interesting stories - apparently Brian was well known for turning up in the labs and going "look at this sound I can make!", and not the most serious of students. Sounded like a lot of fun! |

I met Freddie in Dublin in 1984 outside his hotel after the gig. I forced him to shake hands. He said nothing and walked into the hotel without saying a word or signing anything for the 50 or so fans who were there. I met Roger at his album signing at hmv in 1994. Very friendly. And so was Roger. I met Roger and Brian at a restaurant in Warsaw in 1996. Roger (and Martin) friendly and joking. Brian more reserved, shall we say. They were on my flight back to London the next day but I didn't hassle them apart from saluting Brian at the baggage reclaim at Heathrow. I think that was it! Cheers, The Voice. |
