I have become a big fan of his music over the past months..I would like to see how many people on QZ like his music..
My fave songs by Bob Marley are....
1.No Woman No Cry(Live At the Lyceum)
2.One Love/People Get Ready
3.Get Up Stand Up
4.I Shot The Sheriff
5.Buffalo Soldier
I've been a fan for almost 15 years now.
No other artist embodies an entire genre like he does, and I think he deserves all the attention.
Exodus is one of the strongest albums ever released, and doesn't have a weak track in sight. The Uprising album is another great release, and has one of the most emotional songs that I've ever heard (Redemption Song), and a great way to wrap up the entire career.
Now all I need to do is find a comprehensive release of the 1962-1966 material... Can anybody recommend a set? :P

Thanks, but I was looking for a bit more spesific answer. ;)
For example, I found a great 3+3+2 cd set of the "complete" 1967-1972 recordings (supposedly about 95% of everything recorded) link
and I was hoping somebody would know of a similar set of the older material... There must be dozens of semi-official releases from both of these periods, and I've just about given up hope. :P
LEGEND would have been great if it didn't have all that remix crap. You're better off buying all The Wailers' albums. This is definitely an instance where the albums sound better than the CDs.
There is also a fantastic CD for Peter Tosh called Anthology.

Ha, you can hardly blame the estate for releasing a couple of the oh-so-popular remixes in the mid 80's when even rock bands like Queen were doing the same with their singles. ;)
At least they had the common sense to make sure the later pressings and cd versions had the original versions of the songs instead... At least I've never even seen a copy of Legend with the remixes, until the special edition came out in 2002.
Even that's something that QP should learn from, as I'm sure they could easily sell GH2 again quite a few times if they included a set of 12" remixes as a bonus disc.

The original Island release had ONLY the remixes!!! But it did force me to buy all the Wailers albums on CD, which in the end was well worth it.

Really? I haven't seen that version... Perhaps it was a rare US exclusive? :D
