Right, time to try my luck again! I would love if anybody could share Digital Queen Archive's 2 disc set "Complete BBC Sessions 1973-1977".
Of course this would be minus the two sessions which were released as "At the BBC".
Thank you!
i'm working on this. but it seems as if some of it is lossy, so it ain't gonna happen til I confirm it one way or the other. sorry dude, but sit tight and we'll get there. :)
I haven't had time to check. There was a thread recently (someone posted BBC archives) and Bob was saying that we only have lossy versions of some of the tracks. As always, best to check with The Man... :)
Be really good to sort this out though - those sessions are magnificent.

I'm talking about the version of Harris session which is on that precise bootleg, of course, so why should I ask Bob ? Could you please check the session ? It's a question of 10 minutes and you would help me a lot with the information.
And you don't need to tell ME about the BBC sessions :-)

I've not found a way to tell for sure if something from so long ago is lossy so am not confident in giving you an answer either way. Looking for a drop-off above 16kHz (when they used dyanmic mics and tape that don't record those high frequencies) seems a very innaccurate test to me. But they certainly don't sound lossy.
So, you should ask Bob because he will almost certainly have this and/or know the lineage behind it.
And according to Brooks there are 3 Bob Harris sessions (25 july 73, 3 april 74, 16 oct 74), so it sounds like we both need to learn something!
I'm happy to post the tracks you want on mediafire if you want them.
Actually I think there are two of them. The first one had nothing to do with Bob AFAIK. why the hell did I use singular ???
If you could find the time for uploading the 2 sessionS, I would be grateful :)
Or maybe just use some software, like audiochecker
I'll up them to mediafire and send you the link asap. Can you pm me your email address to kittsuk *at* hotmail *dot* com please? I don't want to distribute these if they are lossy.
I've sent my address your way. Thanks for all the effort you're putting into this - it's a very bright spot in what has been an otherwise terrible week for me!
