I read somewhere that Freddie was tested HIV-positive in 1987, four years before his death. But he must have attracted the virus earlier on, right? Developing AIDS from HIV and finally die took more then just four years with the then existing types of medicine, didn't it? So perhaps he found out about his illnes in '87 but was attracted by HIV a couple of years earlier? I think Freddie could get it from late 83-mid 84, during the works session in Los Angeles or even in many of travels to USA. in this time,HIV/AIDS spread out to the speed of light and it was the country more affected, and was in USA, for the first time, where the virus travelled from Africa in early 80. |

Commonly flu-like symptoms occur about 2-3 weeks after contraction, but it can take anywhere from 8-10 YEARS before the virus meets the full definition of AIDS. Well i think it is because on some pictures from around 85-86 you can see black spots under his arm and even some on his belly. |

Sarcoma don't show up that early, I don't think. He only would've started to get those later on, because it's one of those opportunistic infections that crop up when full blown AIDS comes along. Whaddya know, he grew a beard in 89 to hide the marks... he hardly would've shown them off at Live Aid. |
