Okay, before I get started, I will make one thing clear: I KNOW it is NOT recommended to lose weight fast, I KNOW I'm already quite thin, this is NOT for beauty, and I am NOT going to keep the "new weight". Basically, I'll turn 18 this year, and Brazil still has that mandatory Military Service crap. ALL males who are turning 18 between January 1st and December 31th on each year must give their names. Not all of them are chosen, though. They have a TENDENCY not to induct people who are planning to go to College, but they're well known here in Brazil for being assholes and often inducting people who wanna go to College and other people who cleary don't want to do this. So, just to make sure I won't be inducted, I thought of being reproved in the health exams... I weight 54kg (119 pounds, 8.5 stones) at the moment, and my height is 1m65cm (5'4"). Normally, when your weight is 10kg below the last 2 digits in your height (my own weight, for example... The last 2 digits are 65, my weight is 54...), you can already be reproved, but it doesn't mean you will, they check your general health conditions, because it's a small different. I wanna broaden the difference. From what I've heard, if a person is below 50kg (110 pounds, 7.8 stones), no matter his weight, he gets reproved automatically. So, my idea is to lose as much weight as I can (preferably, AT LEAST some 5kg, but if possible, some 7 or 8kg) in the following week. I can go to gym 3 times a week, and I pretty much have the freedom at home to eat as much as I like, so any kind of crazy idea is welcome. What should I eat, and what amount? I intend to get checked next Friday. And, once again, YES, I KNOW IT'S NOT HEALTHY AND AFTER GETTING REPROVED ON THOSE EXAMS, I AM GOING TO EAT NORMALLY AGAIN AND GET BACK TO MY NORMAL WEIGHT. Tell them that you've been so scared of military service that you've had "recurring dreams of (accidentally) shooting people almost every night" for a year. And that you're just basically scared you'll accidentally shoot someone. That's scary enough without getting you labeled as mentally ill, I think. Would that work? I kinda hope it does, because that's my plan. =) I'm not sure how tolerant your country is, but you could try telling them you're gay if all else fails. |

I don't know if anyone's said this, but exercising will probably make you gain weight if you don't have a high percentage of body fat to begin with, which I imagine you don't. Then again, even with malnourishing yourself, with a weight as low as yours, nine pounds is quite a bit, and will take much longer than a week, I'd imagine. |

I drank a LOT of water and juice...but you shouldn't drink too much juice if you're trying to lose weight cuz there's a lot of natural sugar. Oh, I also ate low calorie yogurt. Those are all good things in moderation. Try to stick to a high fiber (keeps you full and...well, we all know what else fiber does)/low fat diet. Don't eat tooo many carbs...but I would not worry about carbs. I think low fat diets are way better than low carb. However, I'm clearly not a nutrionist so I don't entirely know what I'm talking about. Good luck! |

Haha, ya. I was livin' the life. And people were waiting on me hand and foot. I was Queen for a week. ;) Despite the pain and lack of sleep (at night...napped all during hte day)...that was one of the best weeks of my life. Could have been the drugs...but haha I was very content. |

Oh, and I forgot: remember, there is no such thing as spot reduction (i.e. exercising the abs does not remove fat around the abdominal area). So don't try to over-exercise an area (and bulk up the underlying muscle) that you feel has excess fat that could be burned off. Fat is stored and used in a pre-determined pattern. |

It's kind of strange, but I've got almost the EXACT same measurements as you, Raf... xDDDD But yes, I looked around a bit, and this diet seemed interesting. They make a point on emphasizing that it'll make you lose weight fast, but should not be carried out for over a week. If you are constantly flushing your system with water your body will get rid of the water it's storing. Plus you'll want to stay hydrated if you are going to be working out a lot. Also, avoid salt, as salt makes your body retain water. And you probably already know this, but don't lift weights when you are at the gym...that adds weight. Just do aerobics stuff. |

First, I don't intend to live in this country, thus I don't feel any kind of moral obligation to serve it. well, if you need to lose weight, try those weightloss drinks. and only those. its completely unhealthy, but if its what you need to do. also i suggest a fast before the exam or whatever it is. not a long one, but 2-3 days maybe. |
