OK...i have a situation and i don't know what to do. The other day my cat was acting rather weird and he was meowing like crazy. I let him in the house and he kept meowing uncontrollably so i let him out again. Well the next day, i notice a wound in my cats torso. It was like if someone shot him with a BB gun or some kind of weapon. For some reason my next door neighbor hates him and im pretty positive it was him because he's high most of the time and he practices his aim with a BB gun. I have no proof it was really him so i'm afraid of reporting him for animal abuse, but im very pissed because my cat has never done anything to him. |

I don't know if you should report it just yet. Have you found a pellet on your cat or anything? Plan A: Have your cat checked for a pellet. Then, I say you should ask your neighbor if he did it (only if he's willing to admit it) or have someone try to find out for you. Plan B: Have Brian May rant for you on his website and call up Chuck Norris :)(my two favorite people :) ) But seriously, if this neighbor did shoot your cat, report it. Animal abuse is wrong in so many ways.. :( I feel bad for your kitty :'( |

Keep a close eye on your cat. You know what to look for now. Get proof. Making an accusation without proof is unjustified, even in a moral sense. If it doesn't happen again, you and your cat are fine. If it does, make sure you have proof of who did it. |

I have no proof it was really him so i'm afraid of reporting him for animal abuse, but im very pissed because my cat has never done anything to him.Hi, darling! I went through a similar situation. Replace "cat" by "dog" and "gun" by "poison" and the rest is all the same. The guy who lived next to me poisoned my dog's food because he claimed my dog barked too much at night. It was such a lie: I had hardly listened to my dog bark for years. It was so cute, especially at night. So much so that other people who lived next to me always praised me for having such a "polite" or "civil" dog, you know how it is. This guy, however, was usually upset and got angry with just about anything: he was the one making noise and whom people would complain about. He shouted, screamed, threw things in such a way as to make you quite scared about him - you'd hear the sound of the glasses being torn apart, fierce resonant beats on the wall and the floor. The guy decided to kill my dog, though. At least at that time - some three years ago - there was no law punishing animal abuse here, I guess. All you could do back then was filing for damages. I don't know if something has actually changed. I'm really sorry about your cat and I hope it recovers quite quickly. What's its name? I hope it gets well and you get the chance to share more of its years beside it. As to the guy, I don't know which country you live in, but you could tell the whole history to the local chief of police, especially if there are other people around you who are unease at his reckless use of his gun too. I don't know, maybe the cops could pay him a visit before he kills someone. I don't know how it works in your country, though. Here, there'd be nothing to do except filing for damages and proving that the guy killed the cat. It'd take years for the final decision to published, by the way. Yeah. Here at the hospital there's a guy who loves to talk about his cat. He describes it so vividly that I actually got curious to know the cat! Hugs, take care and I hope your cat gets well fast and the guy changes his manners. |

That sounds terrible! I'm sorry! :( But if you do point it out to authorities, you'll get credibility, seeing as the man a) is high all the time, and b) practices his aim with the gun There's hardly any room for question if it's true. I hope the bastard is punished and your kitty heals up. |

2 years ago our cat was killed. He was my fave cat... Sometimes he was missing for 2 days. One time he shown up with wound on his head or would come home with wire tied around his neck. We couldn't keep poor thing locked for too long, he loved being outside the house like most of the cats. Those things would happen every 2 or 3 months. One morning we found him in garage with hole in his head, also from BB gun. Too bad I never found out who done that -.- |

Thanks for caring and giving me advice everyone. I decided not to report it because as i said before, i have no proof that it was him though im pretty positive. As to my cat, he's better now but he sleeps an awful lot which is very unusual for him, he's always running around. Yara, I'm sorry about your dog. My cats name is Tito and he's a very friendly cat, so i don't understand why that dude did this to him. I'll post a picture of Tito later on my profile. :) |

Poor cat. I love cats, they're my favourite animals and it makes me so angry to see people be mean to them. Obviously it goes the same for any animals, but I just particularly like cats. I hope he's okay. |

You should at least report that it happened. However, I would think twice before making accusations. |
