I've recently come accross an interesting composition entitled 'I'm Ready'. You can find it easily at link. Does anybody have any information in regards to this seemingly odd composition? I'm wondering whether or not it could be a contributor to the highly anticipated Queen + Paul Rodgers album.
Terrible track. I have no idea if it's an Paul Rodgers-original, but it sure does sound like it. It's the same riff all the time with cliched lyrics - like all of Paul's tracks.
It's a Willie Dixon tune. Only one track on that album was a PR original - the title track. The rest were either Muddy Waters songs, or songs that he had recorded.
It's not like mercuryparadise to be unclear as to sources....
There's the odd good tune on the cd, but really not that great overall. Brian only plays the solo on the tune in question and he mailed it in at that. It is an amazing solo however.
Thanks for the contributions everybody. I quite like the track and I'm grateful for finding it online. I'm not a guitar expert per se, but I do think the way Brian May plays on that composition is unique and utterly brilliant.

Hey Pim. Nice slag on Paul, but I think you're a little underinformed.
It's not Paul song, so your "like all of Paul's tracks" argument has about as much merit as you right now.
Also, there's this music style called Blues. It's very emotional and deep music, most of the time the lyrics aren't the masterpiece you're looking for. Example:
Robert Johnson wrote
Woke up this morning
Felt around for my shoes
That's when I knew I
had to lose them Walkin' Blues.
See, no amazing words that you have to analyze for 3 weeks, just simple and to the point.
So, when trying to insult Paul, you might want to get your facts straight, plus realize that Paul obviously knows a heck of a lot more about music than you. Or maybe Blues was the last style of music you were planning on learning about.
End of rant.
(PS: If you're insulted by this, that's your own fault. I tried to be respectful, because normally you bring quite a lot to this site. Just your "Paul sucks" is about as meritable as Treasure Moments'. Why don't you stop being a Queen fan altogether if it really bugs you so.

Did I go wrong somewhere?
No, you were correct as far as sources. Penetration_Guru might have been confused due to the carelessness of my original title for the thread. However, that being said, I adjusted it accordingly and it now reads "I'm Ready - Paul Rodgers + Brian May" rather than "I'm Ready - Queen + Paul Rodgers." I apologize for the inconveniance.
I didn't say Paul sucks. I think he's a better singer on some songs than Freddie ever was in the 80's. It's just that his music tends to be quite repetive and that's just not my cup of tea. I want 9 tempo changes in 3 minutes, 120 overdubs on the vocals and strange lyrics about ogres. Not crap about not getting enough of your love.

I guess most of us do, Pim. I just don't think it'll ever happen :(
QPR is all we can get by now, I guess, but it tends to be very good.
I have hopes that they will do better than Roger's and Brian's solo efforts. And, let me tell you, this comes from a huge fan of their solo albuns.
Cheers,
