I would like some help to identify these if you have a min.
I have a two 7” interview picture disk set that I got many years ago trough a mail order catalog of music collectables. I am wondering if someone knows anything about them and if they are an official release or not. I have seen things on bootleg picture disks and while these have a catalog no. they don't seem to have any identification of a record label or who pressed them. I would like to know more about them and see if they are official or if the interviews could be shared here. I submitted some photos to the archive section hoping to put links but they don't seem to be up yet. So I will try my best to describe them"
Disk one - Has a 10 min. interview with Rodger on the first side with a photo of him sitting in a gray plaid suit. The second side is a 5 min. interview with Brian and a photo of him playing live.
Disk two - Has the same Rodger interview but with a photo of Freddie singing live. The second side of this one is the same Brian interview but with a photo of John playing live.
They are labeled as being recorded in May 1982 and they mention getting ready to play at Leeds.
The only labeling other than the descriptive information is: CAT. No. QUEEN 1
If some one knows anything about these I would appreciate your help. Thanks!
Interviewdiscs are not official most of the time, but not really illegal either I think. I believe copyright works a bit different on spoken word (i.e. radio-interviews etc).
There are some official interview-discs though, like the BBC 1989 interview included in The Queen Collection. Besides that there were some promo releases like "Brian May talks about Queen Rocks".
Thanks for your reply. I'll like to look more into spoken word and interview copyrights. I also have a few CD interviews as well that are not from QP but did seem to be some legit company's release.
