Which year is the 40th Anniversary of Queen? Perhaps the question is which anniversary will they celebrate? 2011 the 40th Anniversary of Queen or 2013 the 40th Anniversary of their first studio l.p.? I say go with the second so that when they do a greatest hits covering their entire point up to then it will hopefully include material from two Queen l.p.s that have yet to be released and or recorded yet.
That's being exact. I guess that would be the official way to put it.
I mean, if you wanted to be super-specific, you'd go back to when Bri and Rog first got together, since they founded Queen. But then remember, Queen is all four of the guys.
It's weird for a lot of bands, though. Rush didn't have Neil Peart (their drummer) until after their first album in 1974, but the band had used the name Rush since around '68-'69.
I don't know anymore, too much number work :/

What about Pink Floyd then? The real talent got out of the band after the first (or second?) album. And they kept the name and after that they could only make boring long songs.
Talk about self destruction.
