Isn't the label of this disc featured in Andreas Voight's discography? However, I do agree it's strange that it still hasn't appeared in anyone's collection.

Andreas runs (together with Helmut and others) the German Queen Fanclub. Andreas is a collector. A very nice guy. He has made an illustrated discography: link

That specific picture was uploaded to my site by a french collector who told me that this version it's like a butchered version of the original where the "opera" section has been cut off. I really can't understand why pressing a sort of promo like this.

Sorry to butt in here, but the collector who mentioned it felt like "a edit without the opera section" might've been referring to the ballad section. If the QueenVault manager heard it from this guy, it might be telling something (the fake edit was just a boring "ballad section" cut, there's a similar differently-tagged version on YouTube too).

back in 1975 - when Bo Rhap was a new single release, you could understand an EDIT being released: it'd make it fit into radio playlists a lot easier.
in the same way that TV shows of the time, (kind of) edited the video down during its run at the top of the charts.
however, no edited/jukebox-type version was made. so why do so in 1978?
Since it wasn’t a commercial release, but a French (radio) promo, there might have been a demand from French radio-DJ’s for a shorter version. Maybe EMI replied to the wish of only one person. Maybe the French stations had a rule at that time saying that (English) songs weren’t allowed to be played longer than 3’30’’? (The actual length was 3’41’’). Was this version actually played on the radio, at the time?
How many copy’s would there be made? 1000? 100? Maybe less?
