Which Queen songs do you think are under rated? My choice would have to be Scandal, i love that song, but it isnt given anywhere near the amount of credit it deserves.
Best wishes,

PS. this topic was just started out of curiosity, and im sorry if it has been posted before
Off the top of my head, i would have to vote for "Need you lovin". In fact having said that, I think John Deacon himself is kind of under rated as a song writer.

Hammer to Fall! Easily the best song Queen released in the 1980s.
Truth be told, aside from Hammer and Radio Ga Ga, The Works was a largely forgettable album. I've always felt like Put Out the Fire and Las Palabras de Amor are a pair of great songs that aren't often recognized as such.
'We Are the Champions': everybody knows it, most of us have screamed the chorus from the top off our lungs at the end of a football championship ... but most of us ignore the marvellous musical arrangements it's got ... like the guitar stereo thing in the pre-chorus that Bri recently mentioned in an interview. Brilliant!
"I Go Crazy"...but only because I have fondness for it as my old band used to play it. We had a girl backing singer at the time - it meant we could actually replicate the to-ing and fro-ing of the "crazy" vocal bit at the end.
It was so unknown, we occasionally passed it off as our own. :D
you and i ( the most underated queen song imo )
the prophet song
my melancoly blues
you take my breath away
sail away sweet sister
liar
need your loving tonight
it´s late
i am talking about undrerated in general public, not in our ?queen society?
From the 1970s
Orgre Battle
You and I
Misfire
Good Old Fahioned Lover Boy
Stone Cold Crazy
Flick of the Wrist
Millionaire Waltz
From the 1980s
Dragon Attack
Need Your Loving Tonight
Rock It (Prime Jive)
Sail Away Sweet Sister
You are all MOSTLY mentioning songs that have not been released as a single. I think that is the reason why they are not well known, maybe they are not underrated.
There are people out there that never heard about songs which were not included in the Greatest Hits series...
Perhaps many great songs might have been hits if they had been released as a single! I´m sure they would have been!

Now don´t get angry when i say the following :::
personally I like Prophet´s song better than BoRhap.
I also prefer the Prophets Song to Bo Rhap. I mean, i still think Bo Rhap is an absolutely marvellous piece of work, but i seem to enjoy the Prophets Song more.
From the 70s, i'd say Stone Cold Crazy, Rock it (Prime jive), and probably Lap of the Gods revisited.
80s would be, as everyone has said, the works album (that was the first album i ever got and i still rate it as one of my faveourites), Pain is so close to pleasure (love that song) and as i said at the beginning, Scandal.
Thanks everyone for replying, i find it really interesting to read your replies!
Best wishes for the festive season,
Luv Caitlin

Not me. I think Hammer To Fall and It's A Hard Life were underrated very much. Not many people talk about them. Same goes for Scandal, The Miracle, The Invisible Man, Back Chat, Calling All Girls, Need Your Loving Tonight, PLAY THE GAME (Very underrated in my book), Liar, Keep Yourself Alive, and Jealousy.
But when I mentioned The Works, I meant that within the Queen fan community, it's underrated. It was a smash back in '84, but the only songs on it that really get a lot of mentions on this forum are Radio Ga Ga and I Want To Break Free.
I think in the Queen fan community, Queen II gets overrated. Because the public didn't like it as much as things such as The Game or A Night At The Opera, I think Queen fans tend to like it more, because it wasn't some big hit album.
Even with the regular public, songs like Hammer To Fall were ignored. Hammer To Fall, I don't think even charted in '84?? It charted as a promo single on the mainstream rock tracks after Freddie died here in the USA, which is lame. It was a kick ass in '84 just as much as it was when Freddie died. Hollywood Records released a lot of promos in 92... like One Year Of Love, The Great Pretender, Stone Cold Crazy, and I think Love Kills.
