Now i've been told (good cources) that there are lots of songs which never saw the light of the day (yet) and that there's dew (3-4) songs in which it's only Freddie vocals and they need to be finished if they're gonna be released (obviously!)
So, i was wondering if someone can confirm or deny this... i mean is there any project by QPRoductions working on old unreleased Queen material with Freddie voice... like Mother Love and some songs on Made in Heaven
sorry for my bad english thanks!
Well there's a song called "Shake You Up", which is supposebly a fun rock song, from 1983, with Freddie on vocals. Written by Brian, but in 1983, Freddie said it wasn't up to snuff. No one outside of Queen Productions has heard it, and some in that circle haven't heard it either. Greg Brooks never heard it.
There's also a song called "The Next Generation" written by John in 1988 for the Miracle album. I heard Roger and Brian thought it was garbage, and Roger told John to "don't fuck with the Queen forumla* again or I'll give you a good thumping!" . There's actually quite a bit of songs that were for The Miracle album but not released.
Then there's the song "The Leprechaun And The Prince" written by Freddie in 1985/6??? It was supposed to be like a fairy-tale, like songs on Queen II. It was also going to be in HIGHLANDER, but no one showed any interest and so the song is in the vaults.
* I think by 'again' Roger meant "HOT SPACE"
Also, don't forget the early demo for We are the Champions. Apparently, it had alternative lyrics like "The people are the champions!"
Queen abandoned this version at the time, but surprisingly dusted it off for the recent Q+PR tour.
Freddie also wrote a song in 1990 called "Winter Sedation"... I've only heard about it, but I heard it's nice but it only includes a verse and a tiny chorus. The title reminds me of "A Winter's Tale" but from what I've heard it's quite different. Brian and Roger and John COULD finish it, if they wanted to. But keep Paul Rodgers off of it!!
Roger wrote a song in 1983 for 'The Works' called "You're Going To Lose That Girl" and I hear it has some fantastic guitar on it, but too much percussion and synths, and some lyrics needed work. Rumour has it, that Roger submitted this to Freddie, and he turned it down, like some other songs turned down. (Isn't it strange how Freddie was the one to turn things down???) So I guess there's not a version with Freddie's vocals!
There's a John Deacon song from 1990 called "No Reply" and it was recorded but scrapped for better things.
And there's a Freddie song from 1988 that was recorded, called "Lupines".. but no one, not even Freddie, thought it'd fit in with the songs on 'The Miracle'... and I heard this one is in the same style as "Nevermore"
I also know in a museum in Germany, there's a paper with lyrics written on them by Freddie from 1977, the song is called Rock & Roll Paranoia, but I don't think it was ever recorded because no one mentions it.
(Thanks to Ben H. for the info on this song)
"ROCK AND ROLL PARANOIA
Ring, ring, ring, ring, ring
There ringing in my ears
Tinnitus from going mad, my dear
Knock, knock, knock, knock, knock
My head rocks away
Just my luck to start a dreadful day
I'm going crazy
I'm losing my mind
If I don't get some help now
My brain and eyes will grind
Help, help, help, help, help
Help me find my way
The clouds are out, the rain falls down
And my voice is drowning out
I need somebody to say it's going to be okay
Rock, rock, rock, rock, rock
I'm just rocking and rolling in my chair
Even though no one's there
Because I'm talking to them
Singing to them, dancing with them
Touching them, ah I'm just fucking with them
I'm going crazy
I'm losing my mind
If I don't get some help now
My brain and eyes will grind
I'm going insane
I'm going psychotic
If I don't fall asleep now
A heart break attack,
I won't be able to block it
Insane?
It's a good claim!
Maybe it's why I've come to fame"

There also was a song called "Queen Of The Self Service Store" which supposedly was written by Freddie in which it sounds much like "Seaside Rendezvous".I think this was supposed to have been recorded around "News Of The World" time.
Personally speaking i think those songs would be best left alone because if the band were all that interested in them they would have finished the songs and released them.
Hello everyone !
Interesting information but where does this information come from ? I don't remember having read about that elsewhere.
Can anyone else then complete this list ? It would be great to have an updated list of the songs known but never heard, or the demos that never attempted to appear on disc.
Regards,
Olivier,
France.

All of these songs and more can be found on "Man In The Shadows". Too bad you can't find it anymore.
Oh, come on guys... dont mess around with the new people.
There are in fact some unreleased songs. No idea if they ever will be released, but I guess if they ever put out that Queen box we might see some.
Have a look at: link for more details.
What other songs were turned down by Freddie?...XD Some more examples, please?XD I just can't believe Freddie was so rigorous and determined about the repertuarXD And i feel so sorry for Roger.
I wanna those unreleased songs to be finished and released!!! I WANNA!!!!
