I put this up on my Youtube channel and it's known to be a demo from the Strange Frontier sessions but Mr. Clayton Moss (Fishpigg) has replied that it is a song by him and recorded by The Cross. I'll obviously believe Clayton over other people, but has anyone else heard of this being from a Cross session? I was pretty surprised to hear it was a Cross song. link
It's definitely Clayton Moss - check out this video posted under the name of Fishpigg: link
I wonder if this finally explains the Peter Noone-esque vocal at the end of the 'Celebration' demo...?
Didn't know that... but all's probable.
I have recently asked Mack a few questions (for Polish fanzin) concerning Strange Frontier and see what he answered to one of those:
47. Was the song “Celebration” recorded during “Strange Frontier” sessions? Were you involved in recording this song?
No.

I do indeed.
I currently own two x 12" one-sided LP acetate pressings of the 'Strange Frontier' album, and the tracks 'physically' exist on there.
These acetates also feature a different banding (running) order, and some subtle differences from the final album mix. So from 'this evidence', I would say that it was definately a Roger solo track.
However, as to the sessions themselves, I have no further information, other than these acetates were not 'released' under the 'Cross' banner. I accept that this does not preclude Clayton (or the other guys featuring on the track), but as this acetate is the most likely source of these tracks, then I am left somewhat confused.
Perhaps there is a middle ground, a grey area, between definitive Roger and definitive Cross material. But without any other proper recoding or studio information, I can bring nothing else to the table.
and is the song Out Of My Life there also, or is this another title for I Can't Get You Out Of My Head?
I was also confused with Mack's answer - but he might not wanted to talk about outtakes.
Strangely enough, I still cannot believe Celebration as Roger's solo - it just somehow doesn't fit.
Anyway, I still believed JSS and YV's versions as they own the acetates which should be the best proof.

Any chance you could share this tracklist? :)
EDIT: By tracklist I mean ofcourse just the running order, not the actual (different) tracks in mp3 or flac ;)

Yes - I can easily share this info: However, I will have to look out my recording (as I never re-play acetates) and listen to it first - as I can not recall the track listing from memory.
Also from memory; I think it is from these discs that 'Keep On Running' and 'Two Sharp Pencils' come from - but I will need to check that out too. (I know that 'Two Sharp Pencils' was an official b-side, but, I found it strange that this track was also included).
Certainly, I would never contradict someone like Clayton - especially as he obviously knows far more than I ever will. I am just trying to find some middle ground that would help me square this circle. Perhaps it began life as a Roger solo. Perhaps it was one of the 'Cross' early takes. Perhaps it was a 'Cross' track, but it appeared around the same time as the cutting of the 'Strange Frontier' LP.
The truth is, that is a lot of 'perhapses', and I honestly do not know why, but I am very willing to share any info I have.
Mr John S Stuart. Hi from Montreau.
I hope this day finds you flowing with passion and love.
My new friends here on this place for conversation tells me that you will know the song schedule for Queen I anthology?
Hi John,
Is it possible that Roger *forgot* that he had recorded it for "Strange Frontier" when he presented it to The Cross as an idea?
Personally, I'd love there to be a retrospective The Cross anthonlogy that brings everything available under one banner - with a re-mix / re-master of the albums and session material; still....one can hope.
Triple Sod,
Bugger off - you are a troll, a liar and a buffoon.

Thank you indeed kind sir. After the year I have had, it would be nice to greet some good luck for a change. At my age, it is all too easy to be grumpy and cynical, but to be 'flowing with passion and love' would indeed be a worthwhile blessing.

Unfortunately, I do not know this information, and can not help you here.
Does this mean that my blessings of 'passion and love' have been revoked?
