Excellent! I thought the track was perfectly fine as an outlet for Roger's vocal, but if Brian thinks it's even better *NO*, well, here's hoping. Something's telling me to expect something along the lines of "Spread Your Wings"......... ,;-O |
FriedChicken 29.11.2007 05:37 |
Too bad you guys can't download it, since it's mp3 :( |
Benn 29.11.2007 05:50 |
FriedChicken, Why does the fact that it's an MP3 prevent it from being downloaded? That format *enables* it to be downloaded. |
JenX 29.11.2007 05:51 |
Brian has posted on his Soapbox this morning about the new recording he, Roger and Paul have been working on, having decided on a rush release, and he's pretty enthusiatic about it. Direct link: link GReat to have some excitement in Queenland. Jen BRIANMAY.COM |

Excellent news. I can't wait to hear what it sounds like. I'm also waiting for the first person to complain that the artwork (link does not say Queen + Paul Rodgers. |
Pim Derks 29.11.2007 08:52 |
I bet Brian created that piece of crap artwork. Or maybe Richard Gray did afterall, seeing how 'good' his recent work has been... |
Dan C. 29.11.2007 08:54 |
AWESOME! I absolutely love this song. I do hope that they eventually press some CD copies, though I would assume waiting for the album would take care of THAT. |

The words Gates and Flood come to mind. ;-) I don't care what they are called as long as the music is good. |

There is a theme there with the red and white writing on a black background. Maybe they had a little paint left in the bottom of the tin. ;-) |

This is good news! So it isn't a tour. Nothing was happening and now something is happening! I'm really looking forward to hearing how it turned out with the three of them on vocals. Then we'll see what happens next. |

Shame it's not a physical release. I hate download singles because they're normally crap bitrates. Here's to CD & Vinyl....! |
Pandy Legend 30.11.2007 05:00 |
I too noticed the lack of "+ Paul Rodgers" I think from a design/visual/marketing point of view, "Queen" sits better on the page than Queen + Paul Rodgers. At the end of the day, if Paul is now the only lead singer, why not just stick with Queen (I know I'll probably get slated for that, but it shouldn't be about the name. We're all here because of the music.) |
Roger's Beard 30.11.2007 05:00 |
it was 2 minutes late! :) But WOW! I'm all goose-pimply. Brian's guitar and Roger's drumming is BIG! |
FriedChicken 30.11.2007 05:14 |
I just listenened to it.. .....Wow! When is the album coming out? :D |

They've done a great job in my point of view. Great voices and guitar. just a quick remake: link |
Roger's Beard 30.11.2007 07:19 |
Okay. I know what the songs about and how it's being used to promote awareness again, but unless you've a frame advance button the boys aren't even in the video. What does piss me off with the video though is the way that the constant cutbacks to Mandela suggest that he's some kind of saint. I know he's on a mission, but people have obviously forgotton why he was in prison in the first place. (burning tyre necklace anyone?) |

Deacon Fan 30.11.2007 15:24 |
Hmm. Nice vocals and powerful playing. I love the arrangement. They just need to lose the 'swish' effect and it would be perfect. (And no, it's not a compression artifact, it's clearly intentional) Hmm, swishy Queen. A subtle tribute perhaps. |

Rien wrote: They've done a great job in my point of view. Great voices and guitar. just a quick remake: linkThat is fucking gorgeous. Well done. My only nit - I would have had Africa facing out instead of North and South America, but its still a beautiful job. A vast improvement. |
Rien 01.12.2007 02:28 |
of course I searched for a picture of the globe with Africa in front. Took me too long to find one and this one matched the slogan of 46664 (it's in our hands). Though the hands on the 46664 site (Mandela's hand I guess) represent the original call to donate, as Brian showed during his performance... No big deal, I just wanted to do something related to the release. Just for fun. |
Serry... 01.12.2007 03:57 |
mp3?!?!?! Shouldn't we ask George W. Bush to bomb QOL for spreading evil? Where the fuck are our army - creme da la creme of elite traders and collectors - 928, MDNA, jose, St Bob, the guy from Belgium with perfect English, ruth.olivier? Wake up, guys! We'll learn old fools Bri and Rog what is quality! Use your mp3-crap for your own personal purposes, Dr Bri! Damn! And they call themselves as musicians... |
mikeryde 01.12.2007 06:12 |
Fantastic, great track. Well done guys! Doesn't that video make you stop and think? |
Griffin 01.12.2007 12:12 |
surpisingly, SINT rocks -- the really spare arrangement in the intro & outro give the song some of that "song about the cycle of life" theme Brian mentions re: WWRY. the bombast is intact, Roger's drums capture the flash of the recent live tours, tho Paul's vocals are still a riddle. His vocal ad libs are great, but the vocal mix and electronic treatments still don't match Freddie on his worst day, so the Queen label on the project raises an eyebrow or two or three, while the urgency of the harmonies between BPR follow well with Roger's excellent live performance. apparently Brian May is also a 21-stone bass player lol. you really can't fault the band for making a nice gesture to Mandela on World AIDS Day to generate more awareness about fighting AIDS. this kind of preview of the forthcoming album gives fans a lot to expect. \m/ |
Mr Faron Hyte 01.12.2007 13:04 |
Paul's voice and his vocal are terrific.

Just for fun.I wasn't sure if it was an image you had created or if it was "found", and so obviously you have to work with what you can find, and you did a wonderful job of it. I also really commend you for not making something completely new, but rather retaining elements of the "official" design and just making it a million times better. That's the harder but classier way to do it. |

Really nice that it is a free download for a good purpose! I like the song. I agree with what Lester says about this version though. Paul sounds fantastic so I'm looking forward to the new album! And I will buy the lossless version of the new album in the shop of course, hahahahahahahahaha. |
