One for QP to consider....
IF any Queen promos were originally shot on film AND the original film prints or negatives still existed then there could be a case for a high def release on HD-DVD/Blu-Ray?
I believe that Super 16mm is the absolute minimum to be considered for 'high def' as normal 16mm is not good enough.
Just buy looking at the promos, i can't think of many that were originally SHOT on film....
The following look like they were shot on film...
We Are The Champions (looks low grade 16mm to me)
Save Me
Another One Bites The Dust (looks like poor 8mm!)
Radio Ga Ga onwards (1984)..., a lot of the promos in general from '84 plus look 'film like' (to get away from that naf 'video quality' of the early 80s) but I know video technology by then had advanced and a lot of videos were processed to look 'film like'.. Kind Of Magic for instance is hard to tell whether it was shot on film or video.
Yeah, fantastic - let's try to persuade QPL to release the same old shit again. I mean, how long is it since the Greatest Video Hits were released on DVD?
Must be time to try to get the faithfull to fork out again for material they already have.
Your point was (or appeared to be) giving QPL something to consider; releasing another version of the Video Hits.
I'd have thought there were more pressing matters, but then again, the old cash cow is there to be milked....
I think that "I Want It All" was shot on film, probably "Breakthru" and "Innuendo". Also all of the MIH films.
Mind you, these are just educated guesses and not facts.
