I bought the new AC/DC box set called 'Plug Me In', which is a history of all their live performances. It goes from 75, right through to the present day. This is a fantastic collection, and this is what summed up the collection on the back:
"The performances on this DVD set have been assembled from a global search through the archives of TV studios, film companies, record labels and fan collections. The clips included represent the best, most historical performances firs and consider the varying sources second. The result is the most accurate representation of AC/DC's journey from their inception to their present day"
This would be fantastic idea for Queen, a history of the band's live performances, and not actually worrying about the source of the video's, but how good the performance is...
What do you guys think?

Hmmm, reviews are very mixed on this, and there's a huge gap from 1984 to 1991 with no footage of any kind.
That said, it's come quite soon after the "Family Jewels" DVD, some of which is from similar sources - clearly someone isn't worried about flooding the market....

There already is the fantastic Live In Donnington from 1991. As for 1984-1990, most of their studio output was sheer crap during that period, so I guess there was no need to document it.
even if that were true, at the time they wouldn't have thought that, so stuff would have been filmed. In fact, I've got 2 DVDs of them performing at the first Rock In Rio in 85, and when I saw them in 1990 they were still bloody good live.
And I don't agree they were crap - Blow Up Your Video brought them back to the wider public awareness & Razor's Edge continued it.
OK, Who Made Who was a bit filler-ish, though.
but then ac/dc have usually got it right when they try to strike a balance between money spinner and what the fans want
very sad that queen don't see that there is a balance to be struck
I tell you, we would have much more great releases if Brian didn't want to be involved in everything.
They could've easily re-released all the albums fully remastered, with a 5.1 dvd-a disc and some extras in 1.5 years time if Brian would outsource project like this. But it seems that he wants to do all the stuff himself.
It sucks to be a Queen fan :(

Not only AC/DC, see Kisstory vol.1&2 , Deep Purple's never ending archive releases from Purplerecords, the Led Zeppelin BoxSet, Genesis Archive BoxSets and so on...
Hello QP!!! Wanna make some big $$$? Why don't you Guys do the same?

This is very true. Which is why I think that Queen could do a better release, mainly because many say that they are the best live act, so even during less popular era's (Hot Space), Queen still put on a great show. Whilst ACDC are flooding the market like has already been said, they are doing it in the right way. They are releasing good DVD's with good performances, and staying in the public mind without trying to suffocate them. Unlike Queen who stay in the public mind through Pepsi adverts and American Idol performances.
