Hello everyone!
I found on internet that some tracks of 1984 were recorded in studio and / or live. I already have the "Appointment" / "She Was once my frined" and other tracks from the same source.
Some years ago, it was a great pleasure to find that an Ibex concert was available (it has now been bootgedded, it was the Liverpool Sink Club gig, and it was quite great to hear one of the Queen members before Queen started life.
I would like to know if someone had tracks of 1984, Reaction, Opposition or other pre-Queen bands, and if these files could be shared here, in lossless format (of course if available). It would permit us to go back into history and to clearly understand what was the musical background of each musician.
thanks a lot for (pre-)historians here who can give us a good view of the Jurassic period of Queen!!!
Regards,
Olivier,
France.

"She Was Once My Friend" and "Appointment" are not 1984 songs, but a colaboration between Brian and a band called The Left-Handed Marriage.
These songs can't be shared here, because they were officially released.
The 1984 demo tape (or better said the first 10 songs) were allready shared here, I think Ginger01 made a torrent for it. Try to search for it in the announce forum, or maybe I can try to do a mediafire re-upload.
Also I don't think somebody will share here The Reaction or the Opposition or The Hectics, the recordings of these 3 bands are incredibbly rare.
Larry Lurex and Smile recordings were officially released, so they can't be shared here.
Did I miss some existing pre-Queen recording ?
Sorry Pittrek, you're totally right, I have made some confusion between pre-Queen bands in which Brian collaborated. That's true, these files can't be shared because of the official release, so we can't make a thread with all these files offered on download.
But anyway, I think most people now have the Left-Handed Marriage tracks.
As far as the 1984 tracks are concerned, well if a torrent was made, that's great, a great part of the Queenzoners were able to download these "historical" files. Unfortunaltely I'm in the category of those who can't download files. So I would be more than interested in a mediafire (or rapdishare, whatever you prefer) download, that could be great from you.
That could be great from you !! I'm always happy to discover new files from the earliest years !!!
Maybe I could also call for the rarest ones, Reaction, Opposition and so on... But that would be a dream to have those files on offer I think !!!
Anyway, if those files are not shared here, could someone tell us in this thread what are studio tracks and live gigs that can be found for these pre-Queen bands ? I only know of the Liverpool Ibex gig but I'm pretty sure some other gigs were recorded...
Pittrek, you would be a great man to offer the 1984 tracks... You're becoming one of the most interesting Queenzoners for me, I think I already asked you something before !!
So thank you in advance if you can offer these files.
Hope one day I could offer you something too !!!

Olivier,
France.
Oops, I forgot to name Smile, but in my mind Smile was already Queen in a certain way. Maybe someone can list the concerts played by Smile ?? We already know some of them, but it could be great to present those that were taped, it could be valuable information to pre-queen lovers.
Call from the past...
Olivier,
France.
Thank you very much for your nice words !
I remember the times when I didn't have an internet connection at home, so I couldn't use torrents. I'll upload the 1984 files as soon as possible.
If you're interested in Smile discography, you should visit this site : link
This looks like a good thread to post this question in........
How much of this circulates as lossless and what is officially released on this list.
1984
1966/1/15 and 1966/1/29 Thames Rowing Club
Ibex
1969/9/9 Sink Club, Liverpool
Wreckage
Green demo
Reaction
1966/xx/xx studio acetate
The Opposition
66/67 studio acetate
Please don't pm me asking for the recordings just answer the question if you can. Everything in good time.
@weedwacker
Neither of those 1984 Live recordings have been bootlegged or officially released in any form (as far as I know).
One track, "Rain", from the Ibex show has been released on the FM Box Set, the rest is officially unreleased.
A short excerpt from the "Green" tape has been released on the FM Box Set, but the remaining 7 or so minutes are not released officially or shared online but for a few short snippets. The officially released portion (I assume) could easily be removed with a fade out and a fade in.
Some tracks from the Reaction acetate(s?) have been shared online, but not officially released.
None of the Opposition tracks have surfaced anywhere.
I hope this is helpful. :)

Something like this does exist?
Or I didn't get the joke?
Kurgan's posts are always respectful and informative, as far as I know. In other case I wouldn't have taken it seriously.
It is contained within some documents John Stuart sent me a while back.
What exactly he means by a reference reel is a little ambiguous, and there are several others mentioned.
Just reading it again and it probably just means the original tracks which were in The Hectics' possesion. I don't know why I didn't really notice the 2nd line of your post before. I think it's called wishful thinking.
Unfortunately I never got round to asking him to clarify what some of material listed was.
The first 7 page document is headed "1957 - 1970 Queen Chronicles".
It also contains some listings by Truro Cathedral Choir, Ibex, Wreckage, The Jay Folk, Left Handed Marriage, 1984, Famous Jug Band, The Reaction and Smile.
The reference reel is exactly what it claims to be - a collection of songs later covered by (in this case) The Hectics. He did create it for every pre-Queen band
