Just ordered a Queen extravaganza off of Amazon...got the Platinum Collection coming, and, best of all, the MK concert, as well as the beloved Wembley.
Only thing is, I don't have a big, fancy, surround sound to watch it on. I have a lame RCA 19 inch telly, such as one might find in the home of an aging spinster...
And, my CD player is, unfortunately, my computer...I am just altogether lame. Guess I'm going to have to break down and invest in some electronics.
Anyhow, just wanted to share my excitement. I know no other Queen fans, unfortunately.

Do you have any of the studio albums on CD ?
Edit : Ah, I just read that you're looking to replace vinyl... which ones do you have on vinyl ? :)
My brother was just in town this last weekend, and, we discovered that he's got all the Queen, not myself. We've got, I believe, still, ANATO, Queen II, ADATR and Greatest Hits...there may be Sheer Heart Attack...
He even believes we've got a couple of 45s. If he drives home, next time, he's going to bring the Queen, to see just what we've got.
I haven't got any CDs at all, currently, as the one I had, Classic Queen, now belongs to my ten year old.
I have really only rediscovered Queen, thanks to Youtube, and, the slowing down of life, and, am just beginning my collection.
I've got nothing to play my vinyl on, however, my brother is meticulous, and, I've no doubt they remain in the same condition as I last saw them, around 1983.
Great you started buying their cd's and concerts. So you watched any of concerts that you bought? Isn't Wembley just incredible??? I watched it so many times, and disk 2 is awesome!!! I must get Budapest somehow, I watched some of it on youtube and I love it! Thank god for my big screen TV and surround!! It's almost like I'm there! But everytime I watch whole Wembley my throat is in bad condition xD
Thank you! I wish I had a big screen, with surround sound...odd that I've never cared about that stuff before! Suddenly, I'm ready to be hip!
I've listened to both concerts on youtube, and, sound wise, I definitely prefer the MK concert. Freddie's voice is in amazing form(dunno what he did, or, why, but, damn, in my opinion, he sounds better than ever throughout the entire concert, with a few exeptions), and, the rest of the group were all just top notch.
Wembley is different...there is a feel to the show that is very relaxed and joyous, for some reason, and I enjoy Wembley for that reason.
Can't wait to play them, even on my cheapo telly!
I'm glad you've got all those Queen goodies to look forward to, what better place to share your excitment than on QZ-I know what it's like to be the only Queen fan for miles!
Milton Keynes and Wembley are great. I agree with you about Freddie's voice on the first one-it is just sublime-especially on 'Somebody to Love'.
If it's any consolation, my TV is pretty basic too but the band are good enough to overcome technological limitations!
Give us your review when you've watched/heard everything ok?! :)
Thanks for your support, folks! I am here in the US, and, Queen fans are few and far between, in my area of the country. It is nice to have a place to go where I can talk about them without receiving groans...
One wonders, why on earth would someone NOT love Queen?

You should try to get the old VHS tape from some other fan (eBay?).
After that, you could consider downloading a DVD rip online, or ripping it yourself, if you have the proper equipment.
